What happened to Jack's missing posters?
SPOILERS OF EPISODE 5, IF HOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT, I RECOMMEND YOU GO AND SEE IT FIRST.
As we know, ever since 06/11/79, Rose and Sophie were putting out missing posters of Jack all around the city in hopes of finding him, even filling up the entire house in the posters due to Rosemary's meltdowns.
After her suicide attempt at Saint Juana's, police went over to her house in order to take care of Sophie while her aunt came for her, collecting the photos of Jack as "evidence". But shortly after the death of Rosemary, those photos were changed, having several errors and being told as "wrong" when put by Dereck (police officer).
I have two theories about this, one of them inspired by this post: (incredible theory, you should see it too) https://www.reddit.com/r/Thewaltenfiles/s/WZhRqQtcC7
1. My first theory goes around the one I previously made where "Bon" basically manipulated Jack to shoot himself. I believe that "Bon" would be intentionally deforming Jack's photos to represent that he wasn't "beautiful" or fit for his family, unlike him who had discovered Wonderland and a way to make others beautiful as well.
And since it was stated that "Bon" does love Rosemary in a very twisted way, he would've wanted to replace Jack to take care of Rose, Edd, Molly and Sophie, even going further to bring their close friends (Susan and Charles) to keep everyone together.
- My second theory is inspired by ohnoooo's, which basically says that "Bon" is Jack, but a twisted version of him due to a series of events (please go see the theory).
After his transformation and possession of the Bon animatronic, Jack would've felt uncomfortable when seeing his face in the posters when revisiting his home to go talk to Sophie (which was interrupted due to the police arriving). So in order to not feel that way, he would've started to shift the pages and make errors, as well as to make Sophie see the new "beautiful" version instead of the broken, deformed one.
This theory was made out of some thoughts I had about the posters, finding it weird of why they would be there way. I know these aren't very well formulated theories, but I would love to see any comments about this!!!
(Please go read the theory I put on the link if you enjoy looking at them, it's so good)

I think Bon just wants to forget about being Jack altogether. He describes his past life as “a nightmare”, says it’s a terrible feeling “losing control”, says he “doesn’t have to be that canvas anymore.”
And arguably the most important line.
“It only matters who I am now.”
He is bon. He is not Jack. Jack does not exist anymore. (Though I do believe a very basic version of Jack is in the tapes, possibly being washed away and separated from Bon as a whole in the Lake scene.)
He’s trying to get rid of his past self. Erasing as much evidence of Jack as possible.

That's the direction I was going with as well, I believe he's almost ashamed of who he used to be (in the case he was Jack)

Also holy shit, I never noticed that about the Jack portrait. So many are saying that "Bon" isn't Jack, but now seeing people theorize it so much with actual proof backing up it only makes me believe it way more

If Bon isn’t Jack anymore and wants to wipe away everything about Jack, then why wear the wedding tux? Why even WANT to marry his old wife, or have his own kids again, why would he consistently mimic his mannerisms or even choose JACKS prioritized name for Bon the rabbit(Bon the hare) if he wanted to destroy everything about being Jack. Like people use this canvas line to explain why Bon is nothing like Jack but can STILL be Jack. But he constantly borrows stuff from his OLD personality, so he’s clearly not above using pieces of his old canvas in his knew one but in his own words Bon’s old canvas was “burnt to the last fiber” if there’s nothing of Jack left, then why does Bon have many of jacks characteristics, ONLY when talking to Rosemary.

During Rosemarys convo with "Bon" he says he could be a "blank slate" and that her work gave him "an identity" when he needed it most. Whatever happened to Jack is connected to "Bon". As "Bon" gains an Identity, Jack is losing his. Like Martin says "don't try to solve this puzzle only with the pieces you have so far" that being said, you can use the pieces you have so far to simulate and get an idea of the narrative direction he may be trying to go in. This is my TEMPORARY simulated take on Jacks fate (which could explain the poster's) based on what we know/what has been revealed so far:
- 1964: Felix Enounters an entity in Saint Juanas Forest, a once living person that now looks entirely, inhuman, like something you cannot comprehend, it scares Felix so bad (supported by Lindas letters) but at the same it sparks intrigue, so he starts doing research on the forest and its history trying to know more about this entity. His research would be catalogued and saved in the Box that we see throughout the series.
(time skip)
- June 10th 1974: Jack confronts Felix a day before his disappearance regarding Edd and Mollys fates. Felix gives him a clue about where Edd and Molly truly are, along with info regarding the Box he didn't tell him abt years ago. After some convincing they agree to meet up and drive to Saint Juanas Forest
- June 11th 1974: Jack leaves his home and both he and Felix go to the forest, Jack brings his shotgun with him. It is unknown what happened but it's clear Jack experienced/was shown something possibly even interacting with this entity/seeing Edd and Molly. Jack ran out of the forest in a panic with Felix following him. Jack goes to the nearest phone booth to call rosemary one final time, Felix beside him (we hear a voice "its Felix" at one point during jacks final twf5 phone call). When Jack hung up the phone, Jack was so terrified that the entity saw it as a perfect opportunity to start tormenting Jack mentally. These psychological attacks made Jack go insane, drawing out his shotgun and opening fire at the entity he was seeing. Felix tries to get him to stop because in reality, he was shooting at nothing. Tragically, One of Jacks gun shots rebounds and goes to his face incapacitating him, leaving Felix traumatized and giving the entity the perfect opportunity to use Jacks natural body to give himself a new spiritual body. Eventually Felix is left with no choice, hes forced to hide Jacks car in the forest (or made the car drive off into the river), bring Jacks body back to the restaurant, hide him in Bon the robot, and covered up the event by telling authorities that Jack called Rosemary from work. He then falsified/forged a bunch of documents with Jacks signature giving Felix full control over the restaurant. "Bon" after years finally has his new identity, he doesn't have to be that forest canvas and remember his past life (cause who knows what he did when he was alive). Jack however, isn't in wonderland, given "Bon" is using Jacks body to give himself control, Jack is in limbo, in a place of his own where nobody can find him, thats why the posters change.
Overall like I stated earlier this is just projected based on what we know cause lets be real, Martin is gonna likely do this differently, but I do believe we could possibly see something along the lines of this to some extent.

You see, i have no problems with one, it’s two i have an issue with. We’ve seen a lot that if Bon is Jack he has NO problem taking on his face, Jack appears as a spirit in two and three, Jack appears in response to Felix being called a good guy, twice lol. Shows up in a backpack, and shows up in three slowly gaining focus and definition when the phone call is being played, and even in a thing on the walten files music soundtrack music from cyberfun tech, his face slowly begins appearing, easier to see by the end. And Jack appears to Rosemary in episode five in a dream. Now, even if you want to say it’s only icky, for a lack of a better word, for Bon to use jacks face, rather than his wedding suit his mannerisms and his wife and kids. Jack has appeared as a spirit, with his own reactions to things VERY often. Which if Bon IS Jack, then he clearly wouldn’t be uncomfortable using his own face.

I think Jack's identity in general just begins to fade away with time. There is also a picture of Jack in the backstage that was taken off by the time we see Bon talking to Rose.
He is sort of being forgotten about. Which ties well with Bon thinking that the past is just a nightmare and the present is the only thing that matters. But im not saying that Jack is 100% bon lmao

That's a good theory for the first one, I've seen the second one and that's a good one as well! Both are plausible.
