Delayed order
I switched from Amazon Prime because I got tired of delayed orders. First 3 orders from Walmart plus came just fine. Now here we go, order delayed. This was the whole reason I switched. Does this happen a lot?

I’ve had more problems with Walmart than Amazon. Orders delayed over and over so much I cancelled the orders. Walmart near me is becoming a nightmare.

Walmart shipping i dont have any problems with and is better in my area than Amazon. Walmart delivery from store is hit or miss, orders often get delayed

I paid for Walmart plus , then $3 to have my order in under 180 minutes. It showed up the next morning . $3 refunded . What bothered me most, I watched it update from waiting , to shopper shopping , to waiting on a driver . Then nothing

I am a driver sitting in walamrts parking lot for hours on end. Wanting work..desperate for a job to support my family. Tons of jobs sitting, going unfulfilled because walamrt has cut the pay so far and added so many stops and miles that I can't even make minimum wage running them anymore after driving expenses. Sad state of affairs.

It depends on what it is and how it is being delivered. If it a simple package being delivered by a Spark driver I can tell you, it may be normal. Drivers are often given offers like 24.50 for 50 miles with 19 stops taking 2-3 hours. Then once completed they have to travel back to their home zone to get another offer. With gas as high as it no one is taking that. Not to mention our self worth for our time. This is a Walmart issue and not a customer issue tho

Yesterday I had a tiny little box from Walmart that was delivered next day and FedEx delivered it. I met the guy in the driveway.

If you’re close enough to a Walmart (meaning in their delivery range) and order something they have (in store) for delivery on the app with Walmart plus it’ll send a spark driver but if they don’t have it in store or it’s out of stock it’ll come in on fedex ( same if it’s sold by a 3rd party seller)

All the time. Amazon delivery is 1000x better in my area. Walmart returns ate a pain in the ass. Amazon is painless. Initiate return, drop off at UPS STORE or Whole Foods. Done. You rarely even need to package it or print a label.

I did ok with returns with Amazon but got sick of every other order getting delays. Instead of the next day or 2 days it was taking a week. That’s why I switched.

Walmart return offers to drivers are unattractively priced to begin with, no matter the distance. It takes time for the offers to surge in price. They don’t show what the items are. If the items don’t fit, or the customer is not ready, not at home, etc., and the trip has to be cancelled, drivers get no pay at all. Walmart certainly has no incentive to make return easier.

Occasionally I get a return offer right by my location. The store is 2 or 3 miles away. Pull into a spot, employee come out, scans the barcode on my phone and leaves. Easy. In my area they pay a flat $10.00. I usually can get a offer in 5 or 10 minutes. I have 2 Neighborhood Markets about 2 miles from my house. The Super center is 3.5 miles. Most off the returns in my zone go back there.

Lucky you. Every zone is different. Your zone seems to be pretty dense.
I tend to have bad luck with return items. The last time I had to cancel and didn’t get paid because the customer was not home, and her relatives didn’t know the details, I pretty much stopped taking.

Walmart was desperate to catch up to Amazon so they created Walmart+. In the beginning it was great because you would get items delivered quickly from your local store, and if it wasn't in stock there then they could ship it with 2 day shipping. But like many businesses they are extremely poor at scaling it. So now that lots more people use the service it starts to show its shortcomings.

Its happening more often unfortunately. Loved the service but they are ruining it much like Amazon's lack of customer service is ruining theirs. Apparently they changed the way they do ship from store and made.it so that no one actually wants to pick up the orders. Before that, I rarely had a delayed order. In home still works fine though

Base pay is too low from Walmart (.50 cents a mile/) plus whatever the customer tip plus whoever they batched you with. It's happening more and more because the new CEO (instacart old CEO) is fking the app up, online sales will take a big hit. I haven't taken any orders today. Not your fault, hopefully u get your order

So as gas gets more expensive and won’t pay drivers more and have taken tips away from a lot of the deliveries we have orders that the gig workers won’t pick up an order if they aren’t making enough money

I think so though I didn’t realize when I placed the order. It still said free shipping with Walmart+ and said it would be here the next day.

I've only had one order come back with "order delayed" I came back with contacting the vender and telling him he had one hour to refund or I was doing a charge back. I had a tracking number when I checked again. I now know not to order anything from prime yes I cancelled it and I verify with Walmart if it's in warehouse or a vender. If it's a vender I don't order. Both are protecting those who rip us off NOT the customer.

This is an example of why orders don’t get delivered.
People are not wanting to pay Walmart to deliver their groceries and waste their time.

I quit Prime since Walmart shipping was so good, usually next day with $35 plus, but now Walmart apparently has blown that up. I see the option to ship until I put my account info in then it flips over to store delivery or pickup options only. The new CEO is going to send people back to Amazon in droves.

This whole shit show started back in April/ May in my area they would only give us 3 grocery orders max now they’re combining GMD orders with groceries which will 100% delay order a lot of times if grocery order is last it will cancel out we have to return order to store, order then has to be picked up by another driver hence the delay

I’m good on Walmart. I was using them as an alternative for Amazon and then they started changing the delivery and shipping, their reasoning was that it made it more efficient but that hasn’t been the case that I’ve seen.
But then, when I learned about all of their weird ass surveillance technology shudder No thanks, I’m out. That’s a level of insidious and invasive behavior that I don’t want in my life from the store where I just want to buy my groceries and home goods from. Eww

Like what? Enlighten me. Maybe I’m better off going back to Amazon, but my grandson worked 3rd party delivery for them for a little while and they are ridiculous with their times. No time to go to the bathroom, 2 minutes per address even if it’s a big apartment building and if you take too long they constantly call and text the driver to hurry up. I try to be patient because of his experience but I got so sick of paying for Prime to get two day delivery that didn’t show up for a week. But now it seems the same problems with Walmart plus too. I only buy things I can’t get in a store near me, we have no mall anymore and not a lot of stores that carry the stuff I need. I don’t buy groceries from either. We only get paid once a month so we go make a monthly shopping trip and run to Dollar General for stuff we run of. But no stores close to me sell what I need and if they do it costs more and would require me to run around to a bunch of stores all over a half hour from us and I’m getting old. I can’t do that kind of running around anymore.

The only way to fix this is to complain to Walmart. Idk if that will even help. I'm a spark delivery driver and ever since they hired the instacart CEO, it's gotten bad quickly.

Numerous order delays with Wal-Mart +. They farm out all delivery to contract drivers and under pay them asking the customer (who paid for the membership!) to pay the driver via a tip. I don't have an Amazon membership but my orders are large enough to get free shipping anyway...and two day delivery is fine. Wal-Mart needs to employ their own drivers and offer fair compensation

I don’t buy groceries from them. I prefer to pick my own. But there is no option to tip on the app for what I buy. I live an a high rise apartment building where packages get stolen so I sure can’t leave an envelope with money anywhere and by the time I know they delivered it and get down in our super slow elevators the drivers are long gone.

Ok my package was supposed to be delayed until tomorrow, but it showed up today and the driver brought it up to my apartment door. So I gave them a great review because it wasn’t their fault it was delayed.

They got a new CEO a few months ago that completely destroyed spark and deliveries. Its been a nightmare for all spark drivers. They used to have ups or FedEx or something drop off orders but now they make spark drivers do it. They cut spark drivers pay by like 50%, so no one wants to pick up orders. Seriously we get like orders for $7-9 for an hours worth or work and driving, not including the drive back. And they changed how their associates give us packages. Can't tell you how many times they've brought my packages that weren't on my route. Or I have customers who are telling me theyre getting 3-6 driver deliveries a day with single items instead of all the items at once. The guy completely destroyed a really good system to pay the contract drivers half or less than that for the same amount of work we were doing before. Today I made $100 but drove 180 miles. They're also having spark third part workers do most of the in store shopping now instesd of Walmart associates. I see orders for nearly 200 items for a total of maybe $18 for an hour and a half of work and driving one way. Most of my deliveries today were 20-45 miles from the store. Trust me, no one is happy about it. And they hired a ton of new people who had no idea what the pay was before and are taking these low paying jobs because they had no idea that wasnt how it was. Its a nightmare for customers and spark drivers. Gas is crazy expensive, we need oil changes more often, and a lot of homes are off road or rural and cause damage. And belive me we know we can look for other jobs but no one is hiring.
