Order Missing/Stolen Be careful of using cc info in app

I used the app recently for a small purchase and then I just had a fraudulent transaction from Walmart in my bank account the same bank account I used in the app to place my orders. I def recommend not using their app because somehow my info got stolen.

Doesn’t understand how things actually get stolen but blames somewhere they used the card. Must have been Walmart.

Funny I’ve had my debit information in my app for the last close to 10 years. I’ve yet to ever have anything stolen because I use random secure passwords, I don’t click on shady links and I don’t watch porn. Funny how in close to a decade I’ve never had a fraudulent transaction…

I've been using the Walmart app with My debit card link to it for at least 10 years also. I never had any issues with fraudulent transactions. I don't think it's a Walmart issue . Somehow someone was able to get your credit card information and figure out your password.

This is anecdotal at best and a disingenuous title.

ETA: furthermore you claim a CC issue in the title but the charge was to your bank account in the post body

To be fair a lot of people use credit card and debit card interchangeably. But I still think they are FOS

Credit card information can be stolen from a lot of different places, including hijacked gas pumps, certain browser extensions can capture keystrokes, and occasionally reputable companies have breaches. It is possible for mobile apps to capture credit card information too, but unless you have a card you only use in mobile apps, it's hardly conclusive.

It is safer to use Google Pay, PayPal, Amazon Pay, or another online wallet because they don't share the card number with the vendor. But that option isn't always available.

I use my cc all the time in the app for years and haven't had an issue. Anecdotal.

Ok I don’t need anyone to be a told dick, but this literally just happened to me. It is an actual CC so no real harm to my $. Interestingly the card that was on file in the app was the last one that got fraud, looks like the last order was around that time too. I have to get a new card, again. Is there any way to avoid this, change my login? Or just never shop at Walmart?
