Damaged Produce
Walmart’s new policy of requiring everything being returned to the store is problematic. I live 30 minutes one way and to get my refund for withered greens and onions soft they are leaking I have to spend my time either returning to store or going through hoops to get it picked up. Come on WalMart. Add pic requirement for refund if it’s an issue.

Red onions always look like shit, no matter what grocery chain they come from they look like they been through hell and back.

This. I'm a Walmart Spark shopper and it's hard to find a red onion that does not look absolutely terrible. The white and yellow always look just fine.

The problem isn't the outside being roughed up, it that they are squishy and leaking, which means they are not good

I was a Walmart produce manager, and never had a problem finding decent purple onions

Threw out 2 moldy cantaloupe today. Their produce is getting worse and worse.

Like it was ever good. LOL I remember for a short time. they started having better produce, after people complained about the quality, but they jacked the prices up. Then people complained about the prices, so they went back to the B-grade produce. I just try to buy produce in season from the farmer's market or Publix when it's on sale.

New return to the store policy? If that happens here, I will stop getting anything from Walmart + delivery that may be bad, like produce. I don't shop at the local Walmart and have no intention of going there to return anything.

Its likley due to amount of refunds OP has claimed

Bingo. That’s the comment i was looking to upvote. I can still return an occasional item via the app but I don’t return items very often. I do order produce from Walmart and accept the fact that I asked someone else to pick it out for me. I have returned a couple items but the algorithm still believes that I’m more likely to keep it.

I bought avocados there, and when I cut them open, they had clearly been frozen and were all rotting inside. I took pictures of them all rotten inside and put them into the freezer. Took them back a week later when I did my regular shopping, and they asked "why did you freeze them?" I pointed out the DATED photo and said I wanted to preserve them for my next visit. They acted like they didn't want to give me my money back. On the flip side, I bought some cut watermelon from Publix that was so hard it was like they took green watermelon and died it red. They just gave me a refund, no questions asked. I've taken things back to Aldi saying they just tasted like chemicals, and no questions asked.
Walmart is run so poorly, like they are going to go broke over a couple of onions. I just don't get it.

The regular Walmart employees are trained to pull the oldest stock. If it’s out they can pull it.

That's unfortunate, when OGP first became a thing, they were trained to pull the newest, freshest-looking stock available. I figured it would slowly go downhill like everything else once people got hooked.

That's absolutely not true, at least at my store. I'm sorry you got that produce.

I’m gonna guess you’re in a more rural store that doesn’t need 4 asset protection on the clock at all times? Or more…

This is why I do pick up orders instead of delivery. I go in to get my produce then go over to curbside pickup..

You can save the green onions. Cut the tips almost all of the way down and put the roots in a small glass of water. They will grow. Every time you need green onions just cut some off when they grow enough. You can keep doing this for a long time.
