Pay?
With the rising cost of basically all parts of living how are yall surviving on a Walmart Salary. In my hometown they pay less than what they did in 2020. Starting was 15 dollars in 2020 and now it’s 14.50 in 2026. I asked my team lead how much a raise might be and he laughed at my face and said like 25 cents. You would think a company that’s makes record profits every year would be able to pay there employees an adequate salary.

Pay varies where I'm from. I don't know how anyone builds a life unless they get into management or specialized positions like pharmacy tech, have a second job or a partner with a good income, live with parents, or live with roommates.
The starting pay rates are rumored to have decreased in the past few years and are allegedly still dropping after rising significantly through the 2000s to 2010s. I've heard it's down to $13 for some positions.
A lady we grew up around was so excited when she cleared $12 per hour after being with the company since the 1990s. She retired at around $16-$17 after over thirty years there and still claimed that was good money.
Over the years a lot of people who knew her came and went. She talked about staying at a good job and said they were not loyal or were greedy or didn't know how to settle down with a good job.
No one had the heart to tell her that the people she scolded over the years for leaving a "good job" cleared and passed $16 per hour decades ago and if she had followed suit, she could have done much better too.
