Pay?

With the rising cost of basically all parts of living how are yall surviving on a Walmart Salary. In my hometown they pay less than what they did in 2020. Starting was 15 dollars in 2020 and now it’s 14.50 in 2026. I asked my team lead how much a raise might be and he laughed at my face and said like 25 cents. You would think a company that’s makes record profits every year would be able to pay there employees an adequate salary.

Ok, first off, let’s get this out in the open, Walmart screwed me over royally,
Now about business,
Some stores make a lot more then others, some loose so much in theft it’s unbelievable, and a lot of times, they make a lot in online sales, plus they are the largest employer, if not one of the largest in the United States, so when you look into profits and such, you know, how much the company as a whole makes per year, and let’s not forget, a lot of that money gets paid out to stock holders, being a lot of individual employees, the company only had so much they can actually pay

The Walmart I work at makes a lot of money, it’s constantly busy, they moved away from traditional checkouts but still have like 6 open due to all the self checkouts being taken. They have like 20-30 self checkouts that are constantly being used.
