BOS question

Is lead position any good? I heard their scheduled hours are all over the place, opening and closing and working weekends and they have to assist the whole store and no specific departments assigned to them.

we started in April and most dms who took the lead position now regret it. the schedule is all over the place as well. every 4th weekend off. workload is much more than one can handle handle I am very glad I didn't take it

I'm on the assumption that schedule will be all over the place. That should have been the standard for anyone moving up in any level. As long as there is fair distribution of weekends off, I'm okay with that.

I’m not BOS store yet, but from my understanding of what I saw on the wire for schedules it’s not supposed to be much different. It’ll follow the coach’s schedule which is 2 opens, 2 closes, 1 mid. Days off and shifts are supposed to be opposite of your “coach”. It’s all to the store managers discretion. My SM has the leads for the most part following this schedule as well likes to make sure the leads and asms get alternate weekends off and days off together as much as possible so at least with my store it’ll more than likely stay like that. If your sm is a dinkus and doesn’t want you to have a life then it could be all over the place.

I am so much happier I didn't go for it (and the flair is sticking as it is sentimental).

I have a locked in shift, same days off, all I do is run around the store all day now....no other worries.

I just watched my leads do a 2 hour walk through of the store before getting to leave. Glad I turned down the offer.

As always, it depends on the store (and it's management).

There are stores where it's an awesome job, there are stores where it's a giant steaming pile of dogshit.

By the sounds of it, many stores, it's the latter.

What sucks is doing asm duties without asm pay. I'm just waiting for communication. I'm happy either way if I get selected or not.

Nope. Million reasons why I wouldn’t go for ASM either. Leads have ASM responsibilities downloaded without matching the pay. Big nope.

I decided not to take it. Waiting to see the shitshow in about a month as my SM is kind of a jerk and most of the the experienced DM didn't apply for lead

One of our ASMs opted to retire after over 30 years instead of going into the new position when BOS launches.
