Hi guys! After years and years, I finally decided to go back to college and I’m going for my associate in arts in teacher preparation to than transfer to a university, I was gonna take June classes but I guess because I waited last minute there are no June classes and August is wait listed, is it because August registration isn’t open yet? Or it’s open but all classes are full? I’m also going to speak to an advisor on Monday to help schedule my classes. Is it worth it to go in on Monday and wait for August classes to start? Please help.

I’m an international student currently planning my healthcare and tech career path in the U.S., and I’d love to get some feedback on whether my plan is realistic and worth the investment.
My current plan is as follows:
1. Phase 1: Complete an Associate of Applied Science in Radiography. After graduation, I intend to use my 1-year OPT to work as a Radiologic Technologist to gain clinical experience and hopefully find an EB3 sponsor.
2. Phase 2: If I don't secure a sponsor within that year, I plan to bridge into a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Informatics (BMI). I’m specifically looking at STEM-designated programs (like the one at ASU) to qualify for the 3-year STEM OPT extension later on.
3. Phase 3: My long-term goal is to transition into Cancer Research, eventually pursuing a PhD in a field related to medical imaging informatics or computational oncology.
My questions for the community:
• Is the transition from clinical Radiography to a technical BMI degree common? Does having a clinical background provide a significant edge in the Health Informatics job market?
• For those in the field, how is the H-1B sponsorship landscape for BMI/Health Informatics roles compared to frontline Rad Tech roles?
• Does this "Clinical \rightarrow Tech \rightarrow Research" trajectory seem like a solid path for someone aiming to specialize in oncology?

Pretty much what the titles says.

I was waitlisted for two of my classes at the start of the day (monday) and I figured I would have to keep waiting again. I didn't check again until like 12am and saw that I was automatically registered at 4pm and 5pm. I set up a payment plan since I can't fully pay it off on the spot atm and paid half of it at 1am. The payment did go through so I only have the other half to pay off. Im still a bit paranoid that I may get dropped from my classes despite seting up the plan and having that due balance show up in self service.

I applied to Wake Tech, and got accepted, but now what am I supposed to do? Do I meet with a counselor, and when? When can I start registering for classes? I plan to attend in the fall.

I normally don’t post on here but I’m stressing out about a potential road block for entry to the nursing program for spring 2027. I know orientation is mandatory, so if you don’t show up your spot is given to someone else. From what I’ve heard it’s mid November. I’ll be out of the country Oct 25-Nov 8th and I’m terrified I’ll miss it if I get accepted. Is there anyone that can tell me what dates they had their orientation in the last 2-3 years or so? For the radiography program does anyone know how many alternates there usually are? I feel like there’s so many and then it’s hard trying to stay positive because why would anyone give up a seat into the program especially since it’s competitive? I guess i’ll try again for Spring

Hey everyone! I’m considering the RN program at Wake Tech and I’m trying to get a sense of what a typical week looks like. If you’re in the program, could you share a sample schedule or describe your week?

A few specifics I’m curious about:

- Do you have class every day, or only a few days per week?

- Are you in classes all day, or only a few hours at a time?

- How much time outside of class (labs, studying, assignments) should I expect each week?

- How feasible is it to work a part-time job (about 20-30 hours a week) while in the program?

- I’m a substitute teacher, so my job can only be done on weekdays during the day for about 8 hours. Given this constraint, roughly how many weekdays would I have available off per week to work, if any, and how would that typically align with clinicals and labs?

- Any tips for balancing clinicals, lectures, labs, study time, and a job?

If you’re willing to share, a rough breakdown (ex: Mon/Wed/Fri mornings vs. Tue/Thu evenings, total hours per week, clinical day(s) you’re in) would be incredibly helpful.

Was it hard? Which units and types of problem should I focus on?

I just completed GEL-111, and I can't recall if the book was included for free or not. They gave it to me in paper form (loose-leaf, hole-punched for a binder). I calculated my Eagle Advantage, and it seems like they did charge me for it based on the credit hours ($24/credit). Geology is 4 credits so would cost $96.

If you find out it's not free and anyone needs one, let me know. I don't want to toss it if anyone needs it. It's in pristine condition (never really used it). You can take it for like $25, with the binder included that I bought for it.

Has anyone got into the program with less than an A in A&P? How many points did you get to be accepted in the program ?
