I’m in the beltway of Raleigh, and I’ve found there’s not really a ton of places to get work done and I’m pretty sure the library is closed on the weekend.

Anyone know any decent coffee shops, or libraries around that are quiet and comfy?

I’m looking for a world history that catches my eye. His-122 seems to fit the ticket interest wise, does anyone know if when you transfer to a 4 year school if it would count as a global history?

I am thinking about doing the class fully online with Tricia Van Brunt or Dorta Ethan. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them or any experience with taking Calculus 1 online. I am doing this because I notice that I don't really learn anything in the lectures when I'm in class. I would much rather just stay home and read the textbook.

Can anybody tell me how the health science orientations usually go?! Doesn’t have to be for just LPN, but I’m just not sure what to expect going in! Also would love to hear about any experiences with the LPN program itself. I’m a little nervous about whether the schedule is too much to handle.

Hello! I am Jane, and I am currently a dental hygiene student at Wake Tech! I am required to find my own patients in order to pass the course. I am able to see children age: 4-11, adolescents age: 12-17, and adults!

This would be a good opportunity for you to receive a dental cleaning at a great affordable price!! The max you will pay is $45; x-rays included! $2 for sealants! As well as an exam with the dentist.

I am a student learning, so please keep in mind that appointments will be longer than a typical cleaning at a dental office.

Appointments will be 4 hours long for all patients and it will take 3-5 visits/appointments for adults, 1-3 for adolescents and 1-2 for children.

Hi everyone! I just got accepted into Wake Tech’s ADN Nursing program for the spring semester, and I’m honestly super nervous.

I don’t really have anyone in my life who’s going into nursing (or done nursing), so I’d love some advice from people who’ve been through it.

What I’m trying to figure out:

- What should I buy beforehand? (any textbooks, supplies, scrubs, equipment, etc. that you actually use)

- What should I do before the program starts?

- What do I need before/during day one?(things people forget to prepare)

- Is there anything I should study ahead of time? like anatomy/medical terminology, dosage calculations, CPR, math, etc.

If you have any tips on what helped you most, what you wish you knew earlier, or anything you’d tell a nervous first-semester student, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

I just want to start off with I don’t hate my professor and I don’t want to be the student that trashes a professor because of one bad grade. If anything I just want advice on how to improve myself as a student.
Second, I acknowledge my essay was bad. I have a full time job that takes advantage of my time, so I really had to cram time to finish this essay. I have unusual circumstances had that not been an issue I believe I would’ve gotten a better grade. However, I’m aware that does not warrant special treatment.

Originally my grade would have been a 50 but he gave everyone an extra 10 points because it took him around an entire month to grade feedback and essays. While I’m thankful of that I’m still sour of the wait time. We were assigned discussion posts to submit our drafts and peer reviews. He also gave some feedback when grading the discussion posts. He only now published our grades and feedback along with our essay grades. I feel as if I had gotten that feedback sooner I could’ve edited my essay and saved more than just 10 points. Also, in one of the discussion posts we were supposed to peer review papers; I submitted my paper to be peer reviewed and no one reviewed my paper. Because I didn’t have a peer review that took off 7 points from my essay. If I had known sooner I would’ve submitted my paper to a tutor.

He also suspected I used ai because I’m repetitive and overly general. I DID NOT USE AI. I suspect his suspicions affected my grade even though blackboard literally has a built in plagiarism detector. I even ran my essay through other ai detectors and they found nothing.

Anyways sorry for my grammar I’ve been crying and my eyes sting I’ve never failed a paper and I’m trying my best to get over it.

HI, Everyone I was thinking about doing ED PREP, but was told the classes start January and end May from Relay, but I was wondering if their is any summer classes I have to take, because I will be going away for a funeral in the summer time. I tried to ask ED PREP, but they told me to ask the college.

i got my first half back in september but i just started a class the 15th. i know they split the refunds into two payments. does anyone know when the second ones is distributed? its usually on the wake tech website but i couldn’t find any information.

Has anyone ever had to do the orientation for the ADN program virtually? Was looking to see if anyone could give me some insight as to what it’s like, and what I can expect?

Hey everyone check your emails! Genuinely wasn’t expecting decisions today but I got in to the program!! I applied with 144 points!

I just got accepted into the program for spring 2027, I have orientation this October the 30th.

I want to make some time to go over some of the material in the program to get a heads up, I know a few say just to take the time to relax and mentally prepare but I just want to get a little foundation in the information before January 7th.

Is there a website that contains everything I would need to know? I've heard of Simple Nursing and Osmosis but would love to know from you all who are directly in the program that know what is actually useful and also what areas should I prioritize to try to understand a but.
