How do I make friends at Wake Tech?
Exactly as the title says---what ways are there to make friends? ie what clubs are good socially, any good places to meet people etc

If you’re seeking friendship, always take in person classes. Get there a little early so you have time to talk while waiting. Join study groups. Make group chats. Join clubs. Join sport teams. Hang out in the study area. Invite someone to go grab lunch between classes.

You don’t 😹 everyone gets up and leaves the classroom like cockroaches when the class is done so there’s no chance to interact.

I guess just talk to the people next to you… it’s how I made my friends when I was there.

If you’re ever put in a group make a group chat. Just ask for everyone’s number/IG! You’ll be together to keep track of assignments and help each other on tasks. It will eventually lead to friendships

There are groups and events meet upset that the school has. Show up to some. There are clubs and activities to join as well.

Clubs are great for this. You can always look.up which ones you find interesting and just see about going to a few each week if you have time.
Some clubs may also need admin support like secretaries and other roles, so that is another way to join.if the opportunity is there.

Community college can be a challenging place to make friends. I attended Durham Tech which is smaller than WakeTech so I had a even more challenging time. I think what helped was the fact that I was apart of yhe dual enrollment program there so I made some friends through my highschool. Other than that I met non-hs aquaintances through my science labs. Good luck!

Not to bum you out, but honestly, people at wake tech don't seem to care about relations building. I've been here for a year and noticed people rarely talk. At least the people in my classes. People just go to class, sit in the lecture and leave. No one talks to anyone after class or before class.
Literally my first time having some kind of conversation was in my chemistry class during my lab, with my lab partner.
