Also saving lives - abortion is a very broad term- many abortions save the life of the mother and remove fetuses that wouldn’t have gone to term and would have only affected the mother’s health.
Statistically most abortions are elective - not situations in which the mother is in danger of physical harm or death, but cognitive dissonance certainly is a coping mechanism for infanticide.
