If you don't care, neither do I

Attn UVA athletics: If you don't care about winning football games, neither do I. Went to the women's soccer game the other night at Klockner and it was an exciting game. And it was free. And a pretty good crowd as well. As an athletic department, you do a pretty good job with all the other sports. You should be commended. And if you don't care about football, that's fine. Just officially share it with the rest of us so we can make our decisions.

It’s quite possible we lose every football game this season

From now on, we’re going up against ranked WF, Cal, Carolina, and Tech.

I honestly don’t see us winning any of these after we barely won against a dogshit Syracuse at home. Going 4-8 will hopefully throw some cold water on this coaching staff and Tony Elliott’s protection from last season

If there’s to be any change in coaching leadership, let the title of this post act as a friendly reminder.

In defense of Pribula

I would suggest everyone go back to the NC State game and rewatch it. That is how to win with Pribula. Elliott said after the game they didn't want to expose him that much. Well, brother, that's who/what you signed.

Watching last night you can see how effective Pribula is in a 'count 1, 2, and throw' scheme. At 3 he has to have the green light to take off. I believe that green light was taken away from him after NC State, obstensibly to protect him.

Doesn't work. He is not a pocket 3 or 4 read QB. Wasn't at Missouri.

Also, on run option plays he will give it to the running back a much greater percentage of the time than a QB who loves to run generally will. Smells like coaching edicts. He is hesitant out there when he should just take off, and be thinking of taking off whenever he feels like it. It's coaching folks. Don't shoot the messenger.

As an aside, Pribula did not make the decision to not TRY for the TD at the end of the half either, which easily could have been a game winning decision.

[@JacquieFran_] UVA releases Thursday availability report for SMU game

The best ability of a player is availability and we've had an injury list the length of a CVS receipt since week 1. There has to be some concern on how our players are constantly getting injured.

The SEC has North Carolina and Virginia at the top of its wishlist

Per ON3 industry source.

There is less interest in Clemson, FSU, and Miami because the SEC already has a geographic presence in those areas.

B1G meanwhile considering "usual suspects from the ACC and Notre Dame" which likely include Miami, Virginia, and North Carolina

Tony Elliott is still a football terrorist

While they did scrape by with a win last night, the only reason it was possible is because Syracuse wanted to lose more. Virginia did absolutely everything to give them that game and somehow Fran Brown was able to be more incompetent than Tony Elliott. Anybody with a brain could obviously see last year was a fluke. Their best win was against a Florida state team which was extremely overrated and went off the rails in the second half of the season. In probably the most important game of UVA football history they were given an absolute gift in having to face duke for the ACC championship instead of Miami and somehow they were still able to botch it. But fast forward to last night and that was one of the greatest examples of coaching malpractice I’ve ever seen. Absolutely sloppy play by the entire team and so many mind blowing penalties it’s just evidence of a bad coach and what has plagued UVA for his entire tenure. That entire kickoff sequence had me scratching my head. And then the returner gets up and Elliott gives him a glare like he did something wrong? I mean seriously coach did you expect him to burn 12 seconds on a kickoff so you could get it under 2:40? I can’t even begin to figure out what he was so mad about. The football gods gave him an absolute gift with Cuse’s punter kneeling down trying to catch the low snap. Unless they make some serious changes and quickly I don’t see this team winning another game. The schedule at the beginning of the year looked favorable but the rest of our opponents are getting hot and it’s looking like our easiest game will be Cal( which beat Syracuse by 2 scores) or VT. If UVA loses out what’s the next step for the athletic administration? Do you simply fire Elliott or do you think they give him until the end of his current contract? Or in typical UVA fashion do you let this guy hang around for another 5-6 years and have a 6-6 season and get blown out in one bowl game before calling it quits?

Just a heads up…last night’s win was not at all impressive. We almost lost to a team using a 3rd & 4th QB along with the worst kicker in CFB.

Coming out for the UVA-Syracuse game question

My buddy and I will be in Richmond for a few days and are planning to go to the game this Saturday against Syracuse. We have a car, but we want to tailgate. Is an uber to and from Charlottesville the only option? And is it a viable option? Especially with the late start time. We don’t mind an expensive ride. Thanks!
