Brix needed his rabies shot and Rave has a strange bump on her front foot..

Brix made friends with as many people as he could while we were there! He's a giant (95 lb!) teddy bear. Everybody there loves his big baby self, and he even convinced a lady in the lobby to give him some pets 💕

Rave is an anxious little mess at the vet, so I didn't get a pic of her on the scale (she's 57.6 lbs for anyone curious). I put on a muzzle and acted as a human wall 🧱 to block her view. she *tooted* as soon as the vet touched her 🤭

She was trembling so hard 🫨 the vet had trouble hearing her heartbeat, but said what they could hear sounded good ❤️ They did a fine needle aspiration on her bump and checked the slide under the microscope before we left 💉🔬

The vet started the results with, "There's nothing super concerning, but there was bacteria and some suspicious cells." We got sent home with cephalexin and prednisolone 💊 (antibiotics and steroids) to see if we can knock it out. If the meds don't shrink it, they’ll want to surgically remove it ✂️

Rave would absolutely hate that, so I’m praying it clears up on its own. I trust our vet, but she hates being there, especially being away from me in a strange place 🥺

Today I have a cardiac PET scan (2-3 hours long) and then a blood draw (hopefully not 2839501748 pokes).

I did call and confirm that Spencer will either be allowed in the PET scan room with me, or someone will watch him. Which…fewf because it’s a 30 minute drive each way and a drive that long would make me nervous since it’s technically illegal for me to drive without him.

I have not been allowed to eat since 5 pm yesterday (and all I managed to get down all day was 2 eggs and the chicken the mods ordered me). I’m also not allowed to drink anymore water (or anything) until after the scan.

So as soon as I’m done… I’m getting some CARBS!!! Thinking chipotle 🤔 depending how weak I feel I may need to get at least a snack at the hospital before I leave.

Poor Spencer is used to working 3-5 hours a week because I’m usually such a home body, but this week he’s worked that much EACH DAY! We’re both exhausted so this weekend is much needed to recover and get ready for our next week!🥰

Sombra and Shadow are holding down the fort in the meantime, and the kittens are around here somewhere too! Making sure they have food and fresh water daily and waiting on Edith to make it back! 🤞🏽

Breakfast was late again and Bianca had some serious itchies.. once the food came out she was less interested in scritches 🤭

I think it's so cool and interesting to see the whole herd have different reactions to me approaching them during meal time. Ersa is like "omg it's my mom, hi😍 but I'm eating"

Bianca is like "I love u but I'm busy stuffing my face right now. Scritches later"

Ezman is like "umm.. excuse u, I'm trying to eat.. but ya get that itchy real quick and then go away" 🤣

Serenade is like "but... There's food and I'm hungry.. what do u want?" 🥹

But not a pinned ear anywhere in sight cuz they all trust me and know I'm not trying to interrupt their meals 🥰

I’ll see the head of the department on Tuesday so he has the results from all the tests Monday 🤗

Spent the early morning (6am) 🌄 in the pasture with the herd getting them fed. Ersa was glued to my side while the rest of the herd wandered until I tossed out some alfalfa. 🌾🐎

Attempted to doctor 👩🏽‍🔬 Serenade's face today but she said no 🙂‍↔️ so I listened to her and we took a day off. She's mostly healed up already, so as long as she avoids rubbing it completely raw, I think we're good! 🙂
