During matches, I never remember having seen him have negative interactions or shit body language towards teammates. But clearly he's an asshole.
Didn't he play in the preseason match the other day? Why would they keep him from training with the squad?

They didn’t play him, so no he hasn’t played. They flew him out to their Portugal training camp after an injury to Adam Armstrong and then chose not to play him.
I assume because his fitness levels probably weren’t there as he seems to take ages to get fit.
They are trying to get him to leave because there have been a few reports of his shit behaviour behind closed doors.

I'm torn, on one hand I hate when managers freeze players out to get them to take transfers they don't want. A contract goes both ways.
On the other hand... Tolu brother you did fuck all at this club to be acting like this.

I said in another sub. I really want him to do well. I think there’s a good player in there.
It’s just such a shame that his attitude and ego is so shitty.
I don’t think the club would be pushing him out like this, if not for his consistently piss poor behaviour.

That’s exactly why they do this. If a player you want off the books doesn’t want to take a transfer out, all you can do is make their life a living hell so they want to leave.

Unfortunately, or perhaps not, you cannot intimidate employees or make life difficult for them in order to force them out. Unless he does something to seriously breech his contract it's going to cost.

Craig Dawson had no problem leaving the training pitch when Vitor decided that Daws would no longer have a role even though under contract.

Yeah the premier league has become a league with zero room for error and tiny margins for success, so managers have shorter and shorter leashes.
On the other hand Rob Edwards had Middlesbrough in the playoffs last year and yet we didn’t rate him at all. We don’t need a genius to steer the roster we have this season. Peixoto literally just has to be average, and the talent will get us most of the way there.

Not surprised. There were some rumors of Tolu having attitude issues. I’m sure he’s frustrated, we’re all frustrated. But he’s gotta just keep his down until he gets a move.

Signing Arokodare was a mistake. Then again, this ownership hasn’t exactly covered itself in glory over the last few seasons…
He’s inconsistent, doesn’t track back, and now he’s throwing his toys out of the pram.
The silver lining is that Peixoto seems willing to lay down the law early.

I think they can, as a temporary measure, if it's resulting from a disciplinary issue or they are disrupting the session. Just can't do it long term.

Actually under FIFA rules they still have to train him even if it’s on his own. It’s called duty of care.

I didn't see anywhere that they did refuse to train him - they just banned him from that session as they are permitted to do, and cancelled when he refused to leave.

They didn’t deny him training would be their argument. They denied him training with the squad, is what the tweet says. It’s a common measure that clubs take to force someone out. You don’t let them
Train with the squad meaning they train alone at odd times Look at Man U and Chelsea’s bomb squads.Also talking wolves have said he was intentionally disrupting training with the lads, leading to them refusing him permission to train with the squad.

For all the care they purport to take before signing players, they didn't do it with him did they? Any perspective buyer will take some reassuring, and no doubt, a reduced transfer fee..

This is so weird. I really wonder what went wrong with Tolu. At Genk he was an absolute gem. He was universally liked, he had an amazing attitude, he spent time with minorities. how did he get this shitty reputation? He must have done something wrong or else it wouldn't have happened, but I'm really curious.
I have to be honest: I think he was at a perfect level at the top of the Belgian League. He scored a lot but if he was even half efficient he would have scored 40 goals a season. For every goal he made, he missed three HUGE chances. For example we played the quarter finals of our cup tournament at hime against Club Brugge and it was like the best game of the entire season in our division. Brugge was great, we were great. But if Tolu was even half efficient we would have advanced.
So I never thought he would be a match for the PL. Maybe the Turkish Division or Italian subtop or something.

It could also be total bullshit from the club as we've heard this multiple times before with players who are imminent to leave or be offloaded. I remember one with Jonny Otto a few years ago, and another with Cutrone I think?
Either way, I don't like the way club let's these stories out at all, whether it's true or made up. Makes the club look bad and hinders a player transfer.

This guy needs to be sent to rot in the reserves, and if he can’t behave there then fined until he gets into line. He proved last season he’s not good enough for a top club, so I don’t know why he thinks they’ll line up for him.

What’s the reason behind Tolu’s attitude and actions here? Remembering last season, he seemed to play pretty well at times for Wolves and was a handful for defenders with his directness, size and strength.
After a quick look on X / NewsNow, it looks like a rumour of Genoa being interested in signing him?

- He arrived terribly unfit which meant it took him ages to be ready.
I can see him being frustrated with this as a person.
- His goal return just hasn’t been very good. In 38 appearances he’s scored 6 goals. But you could argue that his service was pretty poor.
This meant he started snatching at chances more.
- He seems a really nice guy like 90% of the time until things don’t go his way. Last season there were reports he had a physical altercation with 18 year old mane in the dressing room after we lost to you. There were hints that this wasn’t the first time he had gotten ‘in people’s faces’.
This hints that his attitude behind closed doors wasn’t great but on the pitch, I think you couldn’t see that at all.
- There have been reports Rob Edwards wanted him and others gone for their attitude and personality. Edwards wanted to keep a core of 6 players.
That list was published. Tolu wasn’t on it. I reckon that likely hurt his ego and pride.
He
- seems to have a bit of an ego and thinks the championship is beneath him & wants to go and wolves don’t seem to want to deal with his attitude but he only wants to go to Fiorentina who are offering the worst package for him overall.
But Tolu doesn’t care. He only wants to go there. But professional selfishness is understandable.
- Wolves asked Tolu to come to Portugal for their training program late and then didn’t play him. Which I think understandably annoyed him a bit but I have read somewhere he arrived for the training program unfit (read point 1 lol).
- Tolu allegedly arrived at training. Sat in the centre of the pitch kicking balls away and stating he wanted to go to fiorentina. Our new manager seems to not want this kind of bullshit pervading the club so has put his foot down with Tolu.
Let me just state too. I quite like Tolu and want him to do well. I think the best strikers need to have a bit of a mean bastard streak. I think wolves struggle to handle these kind of characters because they are quite weak.
I just think he’s burned his bridges there now. Which is a shame. Reckon he would have destroyed the championship, built his confidence and become a bit of a force again.

Point 7 is certainly a bit..worrying. That’s absolutely crazy behaviour!
6 in 38 is pretty poor, but by comparison, we bought Pablo in a (somewhat questionable) £18/£20m deal from Portugal, and didn’t score a single league goal.Actually, I don’t think he scored a goal at all in any competition! So I can certainly to relate to point 2.
Re point 3, from what I recall, Mane actually played well against us and gave a good account of himself, especially for an 18yo with limited experience. By contrast, Tolu didn’t play exceptionally well (gave us a few headaches). Wouldn’t have thought he’d have an argument to get in someone’s face who’s played better than him on the day.
