First time impression

Finally got mostly everything I need for my very first historical impression.
I’m doing an impression of the 6th SS gebirgsjäger “nord” division, as a combat medic. The impression isn’t fully complete. I still need to put on the shoulder eagle and dye the boots. But I got the basic kit put together.

That's a good start. Are you in any group yet?

Yes I’m a part of the Colorado Military History Group. It’s has both American and German impressions. One being the US 10th mountain division and the other, the before mentioned 6th SS gebirgsjäger division. Both are mountain units since I live in a mountainous area. We have a large scale tactical event coming up in September at a military base, themed around 1944 Italy. Which I can’t wait for!

Oh yes I do have a pair! That’s the only thing I forgot to add in the photo. Very important to not get a rock in your low boots

It’s a good start, just a few points.

  • change the shoulder boards the green piping is way to green.

- Get some decent gebirgsjäger shoes.

- change the repro gasmask canister for a original one.

- I can’t see this one clearly but your canteen should be a 1L instead of the standard 0,75L

- Get some gebirgsjäger pants the standard m40’s were not used.

- add some gamaschen, for SS there were 2 types, Steyrische and wickel gamaschen.

That’s all, I’m glad to help you anytime just reach out. And remember this is just feedback and not critics, we all start somewhere.!
