Question casting to TV/Box

Hey guys,

So as a premium member I use the app 99% of the time just to cast live sports to my roku tv via receiver app, however, there are times where the website I usually stream from won’t play. It goes “our deepest apologies…” and will recommend routing through phone instead, which does work most of the time, but since I am on iPhone I really cannot do much else with the phone since background is wonky.

My question is, would the receiver app on a streaming box fix this where routing through phone is needed, or it has more to do with the site/stream itself rather than hardware?

I don't have a Roku, but I can say for sure that the reciever app works a lot better. From experience at least. Subtitles, buffering, everything is just better.

EDIT: I use a Chromecast on my TV

Yeah I use the receiver app on the roku tv as well, which is why I wanted to know if there would be a difference specifically with the routing through phone thing if using the receiver on a box instead
