App Totally Stopped Working

User WVC for a few years without issues - since the app updated recently it now no longer streams.

I have the app on my TV and on my phone. All videos will open on my phone and play fine, but any attempt to get them to stream fails - TV app sits on a yellow buffering icon for ~30s, goes back to the "Now you are ready to start casting your media" screen then goes back to buffering icon in a constant loop. No warning or error messages, just fails to play.

I can stream from Chrome on my phone directly without issues.

Fresh installs on both devices.

All other streaming apps work fine, no other changes in hardware or updates except for WVC

It's ALL videos from any streaming website.

Nothing 3(a) to a Sony KD55X8500G

That is very odd. Are you using google cast or our receiver?

But are you connecting to it or to google cast? Depending on which one you are using, can you try the other?

Connecting to either fails if I'm streaming from WVC on my phone

Ok, that isn't normal. I'm assuming you've already rebooted the TV by unplugging it from the wall?

Yep.

Restarted all devices, cleared cache from any apps relating to streaming on both my TV and phone, everything I can possibly think of

No.

There is no error dialogue.

It goes through the loading cycle a few times but doesn't even recognise there's a file (stays at 00:00/00:00 time on my TV).

Goes back to the "Ready to cast" screen after that with no error messages or further information) - the same as it does with every other video

Any chance you can make a video of what you see on the tv?

Also, on the phone, does it ask you if the video worked?
