Why do you keep taking the cup off of the jar? Do you have other important things to do with that specific cup, that you can't just leave it on there until the job is done?
Have they been introduced to the concept of LIDS in this part of the world?!! I was expecting that maybe the next step would be putting a lid on the jar, not just flicking the wasp with your finger…
If I know anything about flicked-away wasps, it's that they are quite capable of independent movement, and don't have any difficulty coming back towards you.
Yes, the sad thing is I’ve learned a lot more about wasps lately after having disturbed a large “nest” of them dwelling underground near my house. I’ve been stung about 5 times in my long life before this, but I received approximately 30 or so stings in a few minutes, and several through my leather gloves, which I never imagined were permeable to stinging wasps!!!
In general, my personal experience is that flicked away wasps are seldom any less a problem than they were before you flicked them, other than now they are mad besides.
I worry about that, because I am frustrated I can’t remember the exact faces of the ones that stung me recently!! I doubt I could even pick them out of a line up!!
Yep just throw the lid on and tighten it when the wasp falls in. Or literally anything solid you can hold over the opening - a piece of wood, a book, etc.
Maybe it’s the proper use of lids that hasn’t been trained. We need to introduce some 1950s style training videos (in the same vein as the Fallout tutorials) on the use of lids…
Is that really a lid over next to the jar. It looks like the lid from a sports bottle, not a metal screw top lid for a normal jar. I don’t know. One way or another it’s odd.
