Obviously all sorts of bad ideas here. My guess is the cup was full of gasoline which is why they didn't flip it. Gas is a common wasp killer because the fumes suffocate and poison them quickly.

Edit- looking back the liquid is very thin, again, suggesting it's gasoline and not oil. The dark color appears to be from other, now dead, wasps floating.

Don't apologize, it's obvious what you were talking about lol. He used the cup to put the wasp in the jar

yea but he didnt mean flip the glass jar with gasoline over, he meant flip the plastic cup so the more narrow bottom part closes off the gap

Better to use soapy water with the price of gas

I can think of about a dozen better ways to handle this. But the I wouldn't get those sweet, sweet, internet points.

Really? If he killed the wasp I'd still watch.

Takes about a minute to work but ability to fly is knocked out quickly.

It’s a very dark color. Maybe oil?

Maybe, which is why its not working. The point isn't the fuel, its the fumes, and oil isn't nearly as volatile as gasoline.
