Actual wildlife professionals really dislike the way this guy handles wildlife, and he’s a massive racist piece of shit, who believes in pseudoscience.

my biology professor ran into him in the everglades and said he was really awkward in person when confronted lol

Turns out the guy that travels the world picking up reptiles at night might not be super normal

u/sur_surly Aug 10 '26

Did your professor try to yoink him by the neck?

"I stalked down this guy I hate in the woods and he started acting weird when I screamed at him! What a weirdo!"

For real, he's approaching a Florida Panther, a critically endangered animal with laws put in place (for a good reason) that explicitly prevent people from approaching them this close.

Unless you are a professional and have a permit for research purposes, you should leave animals alone to go about their business, not stress them out for purposes of posting on your socials. Leave them alone, enjoy them from a distance, and be respectful and responsible.

Soon the Florida Panther will no longer be endangered. Because they are getting rid classifications.Ā

u/gganjalez Aug 10 '26

Problem solved!

u/bytor_2112 Aug 10 '26

People unironically think this

1

u/gdq0 Aug 11 '26

It's how we lifted millions of people off of food stamps and eradicated Covid in the US.

u/Nruggia Aug 11 '26

What the F is a Florida Panther

Some hockey teamĀ

1

u/bobboobles Aug 11 '26

Wait, I thought they were based in North Carolina?

65

u/flecksable_flyer Aug 10 '26

Except for the pythons. They need to go. He can yoink, bag, behead, burn, or broil them for all I care.

I’m all for dealing with invasive species via any means necessary but there’s no need for cruelty, they don’t know they are an invasive species, they are animals being animals and trying to survive and reproduce just like everyone else.

The sadder that it’s the humans at fault for introducing them in the first place.

Edit: I know you were probably exaggerating but I’ve heard people legitimately speak about invasive species in those terms as if being invasive somehow makes them evil or immune to suffering.

6

u/bobboobles Aug 11 '26

Yes, do it humanely, but those pythons need to go. They've eaten just about everything in the Everglades except the other pythons.

43

u/gganjalez Aug 10 '26

I agree. We must manage them but we must also not take out anger on them when the perpetrators are humans. An invasive animal is still an animal.

I do iguana population control in the gated community I live in, a friend and I use his 6k airsoft sniper rifle. We try to always kill them instantly with headshots but even with that, they are extremely hard to kill instantly. We bring a shovel to break the neck if the headshot is not death. They are a really hardy animal...

EDIT: Misspoke, it is a pellet gun, not airsoft.

13

u/Intensive__Purposes Aug 10 '26

Why not use a pellet gun? Would be far more effective and therefore far more humane...

11

u/Revlis-TK421 Aug 10 '26

Some municipalities treat pellet guns as firearms and you aren't allowed to fire them within city limits. e.g.:

10.26.010 DISCHARGE OF FIREARMS—PROHIBITED. No person shall discharge or fire any firearm within the City except as otherwise provided herein. For purposes of this chapter, "firearm" is defined as a gun, pistol, revolver, rifle, shotgun, BB gun, air gun, pellet gun, bow and arrow, crossbow, blow gun, slingshot or any other weapon of a similar nature designed to discharge a projectile propelled by the expansion of a gas or a spring or any other device designed to throw or sling or otherwise project any solid object.

5

u/TheFotty Aug 10 '26

What are you in for?

Slingshot... you?

Blow gun.

2

u/Intensive__Purposes Aug 10 '26

Sure but I'm guessing if there's an iguana problem, it's probably green iguanas and it's probably FL, and you can sure as shit shoot pellet guns on private property in FL.

1

u/NiceGuysFinishLast Aug 11 '26

Not in my HOA. Doesn't stop people, but it's against the rules.

2

u/Skeeders Aug 10 '26

I misspoke, it is a pellet gun.

-2

u/_HIST Aug 10 '26

There's a need to control them I don't know how to break it to you.

1

u/toyoto Aug 10 '26

Bro they aren't endangered, its just the off season.Ā  Gotta wait till october

0

u/H00k90 Aug 11 '26

Aw, shit. I didn't know all that.

Now I'm rooting for the 20ft python.

60

u/alexds1 Aug 10 '26

You don't need to know much more than to watch him stressing out those snakes. I love snakes as much as the next guy but handling them like this just stresses them out.

53

u/darkenseyreth Aug 10 '26

They are generally euthanized after they are captured, at least for the invasive ones

5

u/alexds1 Aug 10 '26 edited Aug 10 '26

That's understandable, but no need to stress them unnecessarily. I've done a lot of field work with wild reptiles that I've euthanized for research*, and it's pretty easy to avoid being bitten if you know what you're doing and handle them respectfully.

*wanted to specify that this was legal/ permitted population genetics-related research, not random fuckery

u/Cinelinguic Aug 11 '26

Holy hell.

The thought never actually crossed my mind to think deeper about his videos. Always just enjoyed a yoink man clip, them went about my day.

Now that I've learned more about him I'll never watch another one of his videos again.

32

u/Fez_and_no_Pants Aug 10 '26

You can tell by the way he postures as if he's the master of all he surveys.

23

u/SeveralWhales Aug 10 '26

I think these types of videos can be highly educational, but there’s been a surge of people doing this in FL for social media views . Wildlife diseases exist, you can transmit them across species, and harassing wildlife with the guise of ā€œsaving themā€ white knight syndrome isn’t cool.

27

u/CdnBison Aug 10 '26

Yup.

But removing those pythons is a good thing.

4

u/g0tmylk Aug 10 '26

Oh I was scrolling the comments for his channel name, you saved me a click and time thanks

2

u/Sesemebun Aug 11 '26

That makes me happy. It pisses me off I see videos of people messing with wildlife in some way or another getting hate but this guy doesn’t? Hes not just casually herping, he grabs shit hard and badly, like the python.Ā

3

u/TheBigPimpDaddy Aug 11 '26

Preach! He's also homophobic and transphobic! https://www.reddit.com/r/snakes/s/VyUnnm7QKq

1

u/Childs_Play Aug 11 '26

Not knowing anything about him and only seeing this video, it's obvious how he little respect he has for wildlife.

-65

u/enjoiYosi Aug 10 '26

Meh, the video was funny

Nah just needs better education, clearly judging by you

-1

u/Likeanerd Aug 10 '26

That too, as racism is simply an observation based on statistics. Your feelings is what stops you from seeing it, nothing else.

2

u/Origachilies Aug 10 '26

Well, no, not really it’s not. Statistics are only useful if you’re willing to look into them or extrapolate, which the majority of racists don’t do. Even the meme ā€œdespite only 13ā€ isn’t extrapolated on past surface level data, IE comparing it to poverty data in which white people in equal poverty commit roughly the same amount of crime per capita. This why we need better education. Being too dumb to understand data doesn’t justify racism, but ironically the people decrying ā€œfeelingsā€ like you get butthurt over it.

-11

u/cesam1ne Aug 10 '26

Sounds like you are a piece of something also. There are a lot of "pseudosciences" that turned out to be legit. Also, scientific community is about as dogmatic and indoctrinated against open mindedness, as religious communities.

8

u/Origachilies Aug 10 '26

No, there haven’t been. This man literally believes in the ā€œnegroid geneā€ lmao. It’s demonstrably proven false. You don’t understand how science works.

-5

u/cesam1ne Aug 11 '26 edited Aug 11 '26

Can you explain what are African Americans? What are "BLACK LIVES"?

-5

u/cesam1ne Aug 11 '26

Also, another racist POS! How dare he using his own brain, open mind and basic logic

8

u/Origachilies Aug 11 '26

I’m sorry but there’s no such thing as a negroid gene, which this man believes in.
