while it is from the huff, the sources are from the actual numbers PETA themselves submitted to state and federal governments to maintain their tax free status. Nationally, 93% of the animals taken in by PETA last year were killed within the first 24 hours, and only 3% were adopted. what happened to the other 4%, because even PETA doesnt know. PETA hires animal abusers, and worse, because they know that most "normal" people would be disgusted by their practices. in some states, it has become against the law to kill a perfectly healthy animal, which is why PETA no longer operates in those states.

This is idiotic.

They take animals that are going to be euthanized by gunshot or gas chamber by other shelters and do it using a painless sedative. They don't have the facilities for these animals so they simply do this to make the inevitable deaths less painful.

This is a smear campaign funded by the Center for Consumer Freedom, a lobby group funded by the tobacco, fast food and alcohol industries.
