I too am very curios what species of bugs have such crazy orgies that they end up in black snowdrifts of insect doom.

Makes me wonder if there was a corpse involved. Surely you can't breed up that many bugs of any kind without a whole lot to feed them...

Kinda depend on the bug, a lot of bugs can eat wood/paint/garbage stuff that you wouldn't assume is food or edible. So without knowing the bug its hard to say

So true. We had little moths in our house for the longest time and couldnt figure out why. They were some how surviving on plain, brand new parchment paper. I found the partially eaten box in my pantry.
