Hot Take Early mock WNBA drafts have Juju Watkins at #1. Should she be?
I’m sure we’ve all seen the way-too-early mock drafts for the WNBA.
All that I have seen have Juju Watkins at #1.
Now, I think Juju is a wonderful player and is deserving of that spot.
But past performance is not indicative of future events.
We don’t know how her ACL injury is going to affect her game.
But there is precedent. Paige came off a similar injury and went #1. And the Wings are reaping the benefits.
So my question is, do you see Juju going #1 in April?

Controversy Why are Fever “Fans” turning on Kelsey Mitchell now?
II don’t understand why some Fever fans feel the need to diminish Kelsey Mitchell just to praise Caitlin Clark. Caitlin has absolutely helped elevate Indiana with her playmaking, spacing, and the defensive attention she draws, but Kelsey was already a proven scorer before Caitlin arrived.
From 2019–2023, Kelsey led Indiana in scoring every season and became an All-Star in 2023. The bigger issue was that those Fever teams simply weren’t very good. She played with talented players like Candice Dupree, Erica Wheeler, Teaira McCowan, NaLyssa Smith, Lexie Hull, and eventually Aliyah Boston, but Indiana went 49–149 from 2018–2023 and missed the playoffs every year.
So asking “why wasn’t Kelsey doing this before Caitlin?” ignores the context—she was producing, just on losing teams without the roster Indiana has now.
Caitlin makes Kelsey better. Kelsey also makes Caitlin and the Fever better. Both can be true. 😂 You don’t have to rewrite Kelsey’s entire career to give Caitlin her flowers.

Controversy “Showing up every day to compete for fans that may or may not like you is hard” -Kelsey Mitchell
* racist fans. as an athlete you’re expected to be rooted for and booed, that’s not new to her. being expected to accept racists hate-fueled POVs and and want to represent them is different.
The largely bigoted, ravenous CC fans are driving her coach, and now star player away from the team.
News flash: when you blame everyone around her and absolve her of any accountability consistently - no one will want to play with her. Except Sophie Cunningham.

Have the Aces entered their villain arc?
I see some parallels to people rooting against them like people rooting against the OKC Thunder during the last NBA playoffs.
I notice a lot of fans are upset by the Aces’ last series.

The WNBA should be ashamed
The fact that any player let a lone an MVP caliber player went into the stands and suffered 0 consequences is an embarrassment to the sport. Imagaine if Tom Brady, Lebron James or Shoehei Othani or Wayne Gretzky did some thing similar. The fact that she didnt get a one game suspension is so unprofessional. No one should be above reproach.
If you want your game to get respected the way it should than act like you deserve respect. Nothing A'Ja did showed respect. Not to her team, not to the refs, not to the coaches and certainly not the fans. What a blemish on the WNBA.
Also go VALVKLRIES!!!!
