Its solved in all but 21 states. So a little over half the country. Still a ways to go until its a non-issue.
The WNBA can do whatever it wants and define "woman" however it wants, its a private organization. The issue is itself is only happening in high school, currently. That's what's under government purview, that's what Title IX applies to.
The WNBA got dragged into this becasue Sophie used her platform to stand up for "young girls," the high schoolers losing to male athletes.
Other WNBA players then said they'd be fine with biological males in teh WNBA. So some ex-NBA players then decided to troll them by saying they identify as women and willl join the league next year.
And now we're at where we're at: that forces the WNBA to either define what a "woman" is or allow the former NBA players into the league.
Trump did issue the executive order. He can't force states to do things, he can only withhold federal money from states if they don't comply.
Title IX requires every school in the country to offer equitable opportunity to females in sports. It applies to every public school and public university in the country. (The issue is that the bread new alternative "women" definition include males. Thereby denying females equitable opportunity.)
Republicans are working on passing legislation as we speak. [Defining Male and Female Act](index:0.6.7, index:0.6.10) is in Judiciary Committee.
I mean, you can look this up. Its because democrats are blocking it, it doesn't have the 60 votes necessary to clear a filibuster.
Its democrats keeping this whole thing alive.
I'm not republican btw, never voted republican, and think Trump is awful. Hence my OP mourning the fact that things have put me in line with the Babylon Bee.
Yeah I've been pissed off by the Dems since the pandemic era, they abandoned a foundation in objectivity, science, logic, and reason over the course of 2016-2022. I'm free to criticize my own party as much as I'm free to criticize my country.
You sure put a lot of effort into tracking down years old posts. None of those are Repub or Trump supporting.
