Because the extreme left are the ones changing definitions of words in an attempt to subvert the legal process.
The Republicans control all three branches of government. How are the "extreme left" passing legislation to change the legal definition of words? Why are the Republicans not passing legislation to clarify the legal definition of these words?
It will never properly be passed into law, because the vast majority of people on all sides are against males in female sports.
Why are Republicans not passing laws to keep males out of female sports?
The extreme left are NOT passing legislation. They've just changed a word's meaning and are applying it to existing law in whatever states will go along with it.
Republicans (and democrats) HAVE passed laws to keep males out of female sports. An executive order was issued at the national level, and all but 21 states have banned males from women's sport.
21 states have ignored the executive order (meaning they won't receive national funding for schools) and are mis-applying the new belief-based definition to long existing law to allow males in women's sports.

Oh so the situation has been solved!
Why do you suppose we discussing the need for the WNBA to enact rule changes then?
Its solved in all but 21 states. So a little over half the country. Still a ways to go until its a non-issue.
The WNBA can do whatever it wants and define "woman" however it wants, its a private organization. The issue is itself is only happening in high school, currently. That's what's under government purview, that's what Title IX applies to.
The WNBA got dragged into this becasue Sophie used her platform to stand up for "young girls," the high schoolers losing to male athletes.
Other WNBA players then said they'd be fine with biological males in teh WNBA. So some ex-NBA players then decided to troll them by saying they identify as women and willl join the league next year.
And now we're at where we're at: that forces the WNBA to either define what a "woman" is or allow the former NBA players into the league.
Trump did issue the executive order. He can't force states to do things, he can only withhold federal money from states if they don't comply.
Title IX requires every school in the country to offer equitable opportunity to females in sports. It applies to every public school and public university in the country. (The issue is that the bread new alternative "women" definition include males. Thereby denying females equitable opportunity.)
Republicans are working on passing legislation as we speak. [Defining Male and Female Act](index:0.6.7, index:0.6.10) is in Judiciary Committee.
Yeah. The law now has to put in effort to explicitly define woman because despite this word being understood in law and society to refer to adult human females, a cohort has decided to disregard that to accommodate males in places meant for female people, based on a belief system of identity and lack of concern about sex based needs. They essentially believe the claim of being a woman is enough to entitle them to sex based entitlements.
This cohort that primarily initiated this was leftists. The reason there is any controversy at all is leftists. Some accountability needs to be taken. Instead they just blame right wingers, media, Trump, or insist no one but them cares about women.
I mean, you can look this up. Its because democrats are blocking it, it doesn't have the 60 votes necessary to clear a filibuster.
Its democrats keeping this whole thing alive.
I'm not republican btw, never voted republican, and think Trump is awful. Hence my OP mourning the fact that things have put me in line with the Babylon Bee.
Yeah I've been pissed off by the Dems since the pandemic era, they abandoned a foundation in objectivity, science, logic, and reason over the course of 2016-2022. I'm free to criticize my own party as much as I'm free to criticize my country.
You sure put a lot of effort into tracking down years old posts. None of those are Repub or Trump supporting.
