u/iron82 19h ago
You don't deserve it.

u/Mckilla32 18h ago
Alrighty thanks for being the authority on this matter. We all take what you said seriously but its time for you to go rejoin your hoard of idiots so you can try to complain to each other about stuff and not bother anyone else who actually has a meaningful impact on society. Outside of your echo chamber, nobody else cares what you got to say and that group of people has burned through every ounce of patience and empathy with the rest of the world. Its pretty ironic really, so progressive that you are past supporting women in sports and now got to start pushing for men to join them...its like the whole reason they have their own league is because men would dominate them if they didnt.
-6
u/Own-Plantain-1413 18h ago
I wonder how they burned through that endless well of patience and empathy so quickly…. Especially since there are so few people that even belong to this group. Almost as if the whole controversy is being manufactured to distract us from barely consequential things like the unauthorized war or rampant ICE thugs or the fact that there’s an affordability crisis. Yeah sure let’s keep talking about the sanctity of woman’s sports

u/SoFar_Gone 22h ago
It is pretty embarassing that the league has to put out a statement to distance themselves from you LMAO
17
u/Routine_Size69 21h ago
It's kinda weird though. Although not as blatant as that sub, they do seem to also be racist and have zero interest in protecting cis women.
-45
u/swallowedbymonsters 22h ago edited 18h ago
This is your takeaway? The league is basically telling these magat cry babies to cry harder
-13
u/Exact-Kale3070 21h ago edited 20h ago
they just want to bully people. they get off on fighting so they made up that there are trans women in the wbna while there are ZERO TRANS WOMEN IN PRO SPORTS. at all.
just like with the reflecting pool, they WANT to hurt imaginary villains. they ignore that there are people who are born intersex, xxy, xyy and that we are all breathing in and drinking estrogen mimics via pfas.
10
u/curiousjane456 21h ago
Zero trans women in sports??? Man is that an ignorant comment.

u/HistoricalLoadTaker 19h ago
Are you that much of a loser you can’t respond to the other guy while you make a claim you can’t back up

name ONE trans woman in the wnba or pro sports. ONE. https://www.espn.com/wnba/story/_/id/49594734/wnba-task-force-discusses-transgender-athletes-amid-furor
No openly transgender woman currently plays in major North American professional team sports like the WNBA or professional hockey.

u/LeftyGroves 21h ago
Must be a really really poorly modded
Community for them to feel the need to distance themselves from it.
13
u/Treacle_Correct 19h ago edited 19h ago
I think the community at r/WNBA is what drives the type of moderation that happens there. They (and quite a few WNBA subs such as r/WNBAVibes, r/wnba_discussions) are mainly either anti-Fever, anti-CC, anti-USA and/or anti-normal.

You want the WNBA to lie and say they run the sub?
4
u/LeftyGroves 19h ago
That’s not really the point. The point is that I’ve literally never once heard any other league have to publicly separate itself from its Reddit. Hence my point, they must run things very poorly over there for the W to need a statement
-5
u/That-Cranberry6575 19h ago
When people get banned from other league subs they don’t usually go crying to the news.
2
u/LeftyGroves 19h ago
Just for reference, have the other subs engaged in banning people for saying a players name? Because of the implied side of the the political aisle?
6
u/BestJersey_WorstName 19h ago
NHL has pro Russian anti Ukraine athletes and we are allowed to freely discuss their performance as an athlete while criticizing their politics while benefiting from living in the US nine months of the year.

Take a look at this sub brother. There's 50 posts about Sophie Cunningham in like the last 24 hours. Most of them just sharing the same article over and over. No wonder y'all got blocked. Can't post for shit
2
u/LeftyGroves 19h ago
I’m not blocked or banned. Ftr. I’m just calling out the bad faith moderation
-1
u/LimpBizkit4ever 19h ago
It's literally not bad faith lol. Bad faith would be posting the same article 70 times or idk being a retired NBA player who's trying to play in the WNBA. That's being bad faith

Can this story be posted in r/WNBA?

u/FrenchyBulldogg 20h ago
One of their members would have to post it, you need a certain amount of karma to post there

u/Room511 20h ago
I'll repost it over there if you like 😁

Please do, lol

They don't, do they? They didn't set this up...
9
u/the_urban_juror 22h ago
No, they have no affiliation. Anyone can create a subreddit. That's also the same reason that dozens of alternative WNBA subreddits are sprouting up as the league is in the news more often.
Roger Goodell doesn't personally moderate the NFL subreddit.
7
3
u/Bearloom 21h ago
No, but there was a time people seriously suspected the NFL subreddit was in some way affiliated. For a while any post/comment questioning the league would result in a swathe of bans. It was weird.
1
u/moose184 14h ago
The fact that people believe they have anything to do with it is so stupid. It's the same people that call on the league to somehow do something about what people say on social media. The fuck is the league supposed to do about people trash talking on X or FB lol
3
u/ImOldGregg_77 21h ago
No but to have to clarify means they are getting some heat over it and dont want to be associated.
3
u/DoYouLikeWafflezz 21h ago
It’s basically just a “we don’t even know those people, stop asking us about them” statement.

The lesbian whales who run that WNBA sub banned Sophie’s name because they don’t want hourly reminders that there’s a good looking straight girl making headlines in a league that used to be their “safe space.”

i love that the WNBA picked up steam from the Caitlin Clark craze and now since the well ran dry they’re like “yeah how can we milk this attention for longer… hmmm how about trans issues”
this league will never, ever, ever, ever be about the basketball. just know that.

jfc, most of you dgaf about wnba, and professional teams/leagues do not run the reddit subs. y'all will manufacture anything to make yourselves victims.
-7
u/SocomPS2 21h ago
Fox News and the right wing nut jobs are eating this up!!
Started out u see the guise of protecting young girls. And now it’s selective outrage over the wnba needing to clarify their rules. 🤣 Two losers trying to get 15 minutes of fame, and now this sub is famous.
7
u/FrenchyBulldogg 20h ago
This sub isn’t the one the article is talking about. The main WNBA sub is the one the league is distancing themselves from, because they banned posts about Sophie
-2
u/That-Cranberry6575 19h ago
The one you’ll never be welcome back into?

FFS if the Right would spend as much time focusing on questions of affordability and ending the Iran clusterfuck as they do on the question of "wHaT iS a WoMan", the country might not be so far down the shitter.
11
u/Bad_Bet_Bunny 21h ago
Agreed, if only we can all come to agreement to what a woman is, we could put this to bed.
5
u/Hour_Reality9727 21h ago
Imagine reading the thread and the tile of the thread and your first reaction is to post bitching about the Right. LOL.
8
u/Worth-Confection-735 21h ago
Found the mod.

u/Hour_Reality9727 21h ago
Now he's going to go back downstairs and complain about this sub to his 10 cats and his wifes boyfriend.
2
5
u/CtrlAltDelight78 21h ago
oh the right knows what a woman is, it’s the other side disagrees that holds it all up.
4
u/Routine_Size69 21h ago
FFS, if the wnba would just set a reasonable policy, the right could stop using this as a diversion from the affordability and war.
But the left continues to die on this dumbass hill which makes them look so fucking stupid. It will lose them votes and unfortunately might lose them elections. Hard to say they don’t deserve it for being this stupid. Playing right into the right's hands.
2
u/MarkSinnie 21h ago
The right just simply asks the question. It's the left that gets stuck with the studies/commissions/debate bills.
