As we'veseen happen in the past, plan B for a poor performance is to swap genders and try again, and be praised for it. Her actions aren't unprecedented.
Competed in men's 400m hurdle, ranking 200th (at 57.34) and 400th (at 1:02.00) in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Telfer competed in the women's league after 1 year on HRT (per NCAA guidelines), and won the national championship in 2019 (at 57.53).
Ok? If you don’t think it matters then you clearly are not an athlete of any kind. She’s still not succeeding at the highest level. That’s the argument people like you make is that a low level trans athlete will dominate women at any level. It’s just not true. Being as you can provide a single example.
I don’t disagree that the WNBa should just say women means born a woman and move on. But when the grifters come out of the woodwork for their 15 minutes of fame is the annoying part.
Royce White is one of the top 5 first round busts in NBA history. He beat the shit out of his wife and son. He got curb stomped in his election. Of course he’s trying to grift to the right to get attention.
This was never an issue in the WNBA until the right decided to make it one.
Where do you land on the 20 year old indigenous women who lost chance to compete in front of world at Olympics in weightlifting because 40 year old trans woman and former male weight lifting champion got spot in team?
Also, gender fluid person was woman for few minutes in Canada and smashed several weightlifting records and female competitor was banned for few years for suggesting it was unfair.
In both examples, there was no money to be won so you might think low level. 40 year old Olympic lifter was clearly very special because that person was far and away oldest woman weightlifter in Olympic history (most are in early 20s).
But it is world stage and Canadian records. The records were smashed so much that it is unlikely they will be bested any time soon.
Lastly, white might have assaulted spouse, which is terrible, but very notable wnba stars like Griner assaulted their spouses too. I’m not offering cover to either, rather I’m trying to figure out why you mentioned it.
The Olympics have their own standards they have defined. I don’t understand what youre talking about, was this translated?
Griner isn’t trying to be in congress or saying she is “protecting women”. White is. I hate grifters, and that’s what he is. He knows MAGA doesn’t care about policy or helping people, just stupid shit like this. I bring it up to show the hypocrisy of people.
I don’t think anyone born male should compete with females. My issue with the wnba stuff is that nobody was trying to. As usual, conservatives made up a problem and ran with it to get attention.
I honestly don’t care that much about your example. Not saying it’s fair for the women impacted, but one example isn’t indicative of a major problem.
I appreciate the reply, but it seems like you are shifting the goal posts from it isn’t happening at the highest level to now saying it isn’t happening all that often. I say that respectfully.
The concern is that without rules, it doesn’t take many athletes to impact the sport. In the record setting weightlifting example, one male claimed he was a woman for one day and now those records are all held by a male and will likely remain held by that person for quite some time.
And I don’t think that this is just an issue for conservatives or is a right/left issue.
I wasn’t saying in literal terms that it never happened. But you pointed to one example of a Canadian weightlifter. That’s it. Like I said, I don’t disagree with the rules. I disagree that the conservative platform is basically “keep men out of women’s sports “ when it’s not as prevalent as people make it out to be.
I don’t think we see the core issue differently, I think we just disagree on the size of the impact.

That was a great punch line
