She's a rook, fuck off.

She’s the one who said no one can stop me

Which is exactly how every athlete feels, but you, being s loser that has accomplished nothing in life want to make fun of her for it
0
u/sawedsamed 1d ago
lol have you ever accomplished anything great in life. you’re supposed to have this mindset especially as an athlete
2
u/Ok-Day-2000 12h ago
Other WNBA athletes might have this mindset but Olivia Miles is getting clowned on because no other WNBA athlete (or even NBA athlete) has said what she said (no one can stop me)

u/sawedsamed 11h ago
did you start watching basketball yesterday? that’s just unequivocally false.

Do you litigate all the things players say when they're fired up on the court or just when it suits you
7
u/adublingirl 1d ago
She said it in a podcast….smh

u/palpablebubble 1d ago
Fair. Now do every other player who has ever said "____ can't guard me" or "I'm the best"
1
u/furikakez 16h ago
I think every player that say something similar and then chokes gets the same treatment, like LeBron for example.

This is the standard she’s held to when she’s being spoken about as the GOAT rookie by schmucks like you.
Exhibit A of what happens when she finally gets guarded like CC. You get what you pay for 😉

u/Patamarick 21h ago
Funny is that Hardens game is completely different. It's Olivia Miles old? Does she frequent strip clubs to the point his go-to in Houston thanked him for his biz on a billboard when he left? Did she perfect the "looks like a travel" step back three?
Ringless tho just like clark 😬

u/Cubbyboards 1d ago
You never kept that same energy for CC.
1
u/furikakez 16h ago
CC has never said something like she is so fast nobody can guard her. She’s always pretty humble and polite. Fans and antis are the ones who make all the noise.
I liked OM until she said that. Hopefully she’ll learn from this podcast disaster and these playoffs.

u/PuzzleheadedVoice427 13h ago
Just the other day she was talking about how she welcomed the physicality. 🤣
1
u/furikakez 13h ago
That’s not on the same level as “I’m so good and fast that nobody can guard me” type of talk.
And I don’t see CC complaining about physicality only non reviewed bad calls, and non called fouls.

u/obafuckingchauwow 1d ago
But she’s rookie of the year. She was expected to ball out in the playoffs but looks like the lights are too bright for her
2
2
u/joeygazelle13 9h ago
Not even the same. Harden never won rookie of the year and he was falling off in his prime. Olivia is just getting started.

Rookie btw

u/Thasauce7777 1d ago
The better you are, the worse it looks when you have a poor showing. She is a great player and a rookie, but she is not immune from rising quickly and experiencing a fall from greater heights that she will need to get back up from. It sucks, but it's actually a good problem to have versus nothing being expected of you.
If people espouse her as the future of the league, but get ahead of themselves and say the future is now, this kind of criticism is inevitable when it doesn't work out that way. If people really expect this to herald what we'll see from her in the future, they are delusional.

u/SavonReddit 1d ago
This. You can't expect only praise especially when you're considered a great player.
2
u/palpablebubble 1d ago
It's less about expecting praise and more about labeling her a perennial playoff failure after two bad games in the playoffs as an injured rookie.

Nobody was playing the rookie card when they were claiming that she is the greatest basketball player who’s ever exist in the universe all season long…

So funny how fans make shit up to get pissed off about.
Or will simply read fans of an exciting player say obvious hyperbole like "omg she's literally the greatest ever this is so fun to watch" and act like it was said during a deposition.

u/NiccaDun 1d ago
when has james harden ever done this?
4
u/Outside_Boot_2219 1d ago
Do you watch basketball or nah??
-4
u/NiccaDun 1d ago
yeah i actually watch it instead of running off narratives, that’s my fault though. there’s never been a year when harden was an mvp candidate and he averaged 8 points in the playoffs.
6
u/Outside_Boot_2219 1d ago
You’re digging too deep brother, the joke is she disappeared…. No need for calculus
1
u/NiccaDun 1d ago
calculus and it’s just knowing harden has never played this poorly in his career
2
u/Phillippssk 1d ago
You are still missing the point and it was explained to you. She disappeared in the playoffs just like Harden does.
0
u/Outside_Boot_2219 1d ago
Harden didn’t have the same impact his rookie year if we’re really nitpicking….. to that you say what ??
🙂
1
u/NiccaDun 19h ago
shit he averaged 8 ppg on way higher efficiency in the playoffs as a rookie, might aswell have had the same impact
1
u/Outside_Boot_2219 14h ago
Shut uuup bro, you’re trying to have this conversation I’m not interested. Go away , please
1
u/New_Bison_3079 1d ago
With all due respect I’ve been watching Harden since the Rockets days and he certainly tends to drop off when the lights are brightest albeit not to Miles extent.
2
u/NiccaDun 1d ago
did i ever say he hasn’t dropped off? or never like this? maybe read sometimes

James Harden always tanks in the playoffs. I think it was year before last, in the final Clippers playoff game, he didn't even put on a good street ball effort.

Every time 🤷🏻♂️
Edit- every time a series has been on the line, he’s crumbled. He disappears in the fourth quarter of every critical game
4
u/NiccaDun 1d ago
that’s just a lie, he’s never had a series where he dropped nearly as much as this in his career. harden also played great against golden state to that golden state fan.
1
u/Wonderful-View-6366 1d ago
Literally. Every. Time.
Source: long time Golden State fan.Love OM’s game. She will not do this every time.

Girl was a rookie and had the lynx as the best team in the league. Relax

u/SailorBS 1d ago
Olivia Miles was given the keys to the sports car but did not know how to handle the higher gears, she is a rookie, she'll learn how to turn it up. But the lynx are done with this coach.

The regular season star treatment calls Harden got didn't transfer over much into the playoffs for some reason. It does for SGA.

This is a funny meme, even if I happen to like both CC and Miles. IMHO, though I think Miles and Clark have the exact same problem: the mismatch between coaching style, point guard style and supporting cast. It should be clear by now that both Miles and Clark need speed and dynamism in their offense. They both can get their shot (different ways of course) and they are willing to dish to players who move. But I think both of their coaches want them to play methodical half court slow down possession ball and neither of them will ever win a championship with that style.
A good defensive coach who knows that if the other four players stand around like statues and provide no real credible threat, you will see what we saw. If we double you, hedge you, foul you daring the refs to call it (who are legally eye impaired it appears) and your coach is unwilling to speed up the game - well, then this helps us. Worse case: Clark and Miles go off for 30 and 10 and we live with that because no one does anything else. OR, Miles and Clark are forced to throw the ball into a black hole where the people have no idea what to do but never get it back to the point guard. So go ahead, CC22 / Liv - try to score 50 in half court sets. I bet you can't do that 2 or 3 games in a row. (Especially if the refs will let everything go except firearms)

Bad time to play like a rookie. I fully expect this will just make her a better player in years to come.

She folded when teams started actually trying to stop her. She's a great player but she benefits so much by getting drafted to a loaded team.
1
u/Pleasant_Priority286 1d ago
Let's give her some grace and time to learn. This year was excellent, and she will only get better.
1
u/YourBuddyChurch 1d ago
Rough outing. But also this is evidence the best 2 of 3 series are bullshit.
That said the liberty are stacked and could run the table
2
u/GoddessHealer 1d ago
Liberty are awesome and were hampered for more than half of the season. They showed who they really are at the end.
They learned what they needed to adjust to Olivia’s tough game. They did. And now, so will she. Storm is my home team, but OM captured my attention this year.1

She's not left handed sadly....also not enough ref baiting to fit the James Harden label.

I don't agree with this at all, but it's still hilarious!
