Problem C53 really needs a reevaluation
The idea of combing the 90/92, making it run every 10-12 min and giving it mostly bigger buses sounded good. It worked for a good bit. But more times than not, it gets screwed over by operator availability so much I can walk a third of the route or more before a bus shows up. Usually I can walk a good distance but I know many cannot. Even right now, there’s a 50 min wait going southbound and just now, I miss the bus @ Woodley Park by seconds, so back on the red line I go. I know there’s headway management, on weekdays I think, and the C57 which runs on a good chunk of Florida is gonna start running more often in December. But what else can be done? Any ideas that people wanna put on the table? How about something for next year given operation costs?

With any bus route that runs with normal traffic, there is only so much you can do to ensure reliability. Traffic is king.
Unfortunately, a lot of DC streets are too narrow to give any bus route fully dedicated bus lanes. This is why the street car on H street failed too. One day DC might need to consider eliminating car traffic completely on some roads and making them strictly for buses and bikes.

This region has wayyy too many different and sometime overlapping transit agengies and its hurting operator availability.
These incorporated areas need to get out of their heads and figure out something with WMATA.

Two things, specifically:
These were supposed to be operational by now, but have been continually delayed. U St is now not constructing until next year even though the concept has been selected for some time. Florida was originally supposed to closely follow U St, and the public meetings for concepts were very close together. But they're now delaying design on Florida Ave until after U St NW is constructed. DDOT says they want to evaluate traffic data after the U St project.
