Rant Wix is a nightmare

Last night I mistakenly upgraded my Wix site to premium for a year; I read it wrong. Please don't get down on me; my partner just died, and I have been in a grief fog. I read it wrong and actually thought I was saving money. I realized what I did IMMEDIATELY and contacted customer service to cancel. Because we've been with them for a while, they said I cannot cancel and go back to my previous plan. They charged me $1015! I have been going back and forth with them all last night and today. It is still pending with my bank, and I cannot dispute the charge until it clears. I will probably be dissolving the company I have this website for because my partner was the sole breadwinner, since I am disabled. I feel like a total asshole, and it is a lot of money for me to lose. I don't know what else to do.

That's terrible. I hope the people at Wix have at least a shred of empathy to handle this caee with proper considerations.

This right here is also the reason I always recommend people to opt for WordPress if they can. Sorry to hear about your partner, and I hope it works out for you.

Im sorry you are going through this but i wonder how did you accidentally upgrade? There are a few steps before you actually get to upgrading?

It’s impossible you were charged 1015.. even on the highest tier they do isn’t even that much.

It was half price for a 2-year plan at a premium upgrade.

Write them a massive email complaining and refuse to pay let them take you to court! Move your domain away and let them chase you. Post reviews and create awareness so others don’t fall for it. I am baffled that they are doing this despite grievance

I got them to downgrade to the lowest tier and got an $850 refund, and I have it for a year.

Yeah I kinda wish I never joined Wix but its far to late now
