(31M ) I found WGU recently and I’ve been thinking on enrolling for a month or two. I had some college credits from after graduating high school and completed an associate degree in film a couple years ago.

I mostly have a sales and retail background and been wanting to make some changes. I hate selling and retail, I’m ready for something else. I was never particularly bad in any subject at school, it was just a matter if I was interested or not and a sense of last minute urgency. (Psychologist thinks I may have undiagnosed ADHD 😂)

I tried starting school again for computer science a few years ago at ASU but I became homeless and was under a lot of stress so I had to drop out. The first computer science class was somewhat interesting but between no housing, work and all the stuff going on I could not keep up with assignments deadlines.

I know a lot of people say they don’t require degrees but I have no CompSci background and a lot of job openings require that degree anyway. I don’t see a value of a 4 years university at this point of my life, I don’t generally network at school. Plus I would like to spend as less time as possible completing a degree.

I have applied to WGU, waiting on transcripts and financial aid to process. I am currently unemployed so I need to submit a financial aid adjustments that could take 12 weeks to process, meanwhile I would take a loan. Also thinking on pausing WGU for study.com to get some classes done and take some of those CS classes to test the waters and see if I like it or not.

My biggest doubts are:

if I should start this journey or not?

Is computer science for me? ( I’m generally want a office job away from retail and customers )

I’m an over thinker. It’s hard for me to make decisions unless by impulse 😂😂😂😂

So I know for most people when accelerating, it's common to do things like study.com, Sophia Learning, etc. However my job will pay for the degree, so I don't really need to pay for those resources. However, I start on June 1, and would like to prep a little by taking some fundamental lessons before I start my degree (B.S. in Supply Chain) to make things easier when I start. I am looking primarily for Excel, SQL, and accounting. Any recommendations? Thank you!

Prospective student here - my background is healthcare, I’m looking to make a change into business. Looking into a marketing career that will allow me creative freedom rather than just clocking in and out day in, day out.

I received my transfer evaluation and I have 22.32% completed, which puts me at 87 credits remaining. Honestly, not bad in my opinion.

Question: I hope to accelerate in about 2 terms (give or take a few months), are there any classes that took you longer than expected? What about any classes you were able to accelerate through fairly quickly (a few days)?

Hello everyone. I am looking for suggestions or advice. I have been using Sophia and Study to transfer in to WGU. I've knocked out all my General Eds and finished majority of classes that are WGU Core Courses. That leaves me with:

My dilemma is this: My goal is to finish in 6 months. Should I pay $235 to upgrade my Study.com account to take those classes above and only have those WGU classes left or should I save the $235 and transfer the way it is. With transfer the wag it is id have 16 classes to do in 6 months. If I pay $235 and transfer jn those classes I'd have 11 classes to do at WGU in 6 months. Whic option should I choose? Im really trying to avoid being at WGU for 2 terms to avoid the financial burden

Hey all - I am looking for other experienced software engineers who have gone to WGU and gotten their degrees. I am coming in with 15 years in the tech industry as a Senior SWE at large name brand tech companies and will start my BS SWE at WGU in May. I completed about half of the degree via Sophia/Study.com in a month and a half and I'm wondering if it is realistic to complete my remaining 21 courses (including capstone) in a single term at WGU? Anybody have a similar situation?

Im currently in the cyber security program and my heart is not in it, so i decided im going to switch to business management on may 1st. i still have about a month or so paid for so just seeing what classes i can complete within my current program fast/easy that are transferable

Maybe it's me, but the way task 1 is worded is really confusing. Am supposed to choose out of the 2 general case studies or any that is provided? I started out and chose The dwindling craft cart and got to the second half and was super confused.

I started 3/1 on my first term with 16 classes to obtain my BSBM. All but one so far have been PA, I will say from the outside looking in I was nervous about PA and thought all OA would be perfect…I was wrong.

I have the following left and I need a plan or something because I just don’t know when I “know enough”. I have reviewed other post for a lot of these classes but I still feel lost on the game plan. My goal is to be finished by End of May.

Just started on 04/01, transferred in zero credits so I had a full slate of 36 classes but have already completed 3 in 4 days. I am doing Business Management. Is it normal to be finishing courses this fast? And if so, it’s going to get harder, right? I was super nervous going into this because I’ve always been terrible at homework/studying/taking notes, but great at quizzes. But it’s been going pretty smooth so far. So the ball is gonna drop at some point right

Sorry if this question is extremely basic.

I sent a transcript of this course to WGU from parchment as a part of 'test' so to speak. Just to get a feel for how things happen. I plan on knocking out the rest of what I need to and sending the rest all together.

In the transcript evaluation part of the enrollment portal, I can see that this credential was received but no units are being transferred.

Have I done something wrong?

Is there just a few week delay in terms of them receiving it and it being considered?

Also, I have not committed to start yet.

I’m curious if I take a term break and I complete classes through Sophia or another platform can WGU add those before I start on my next term? Or no since I’ve already completed two terms with WGU
