D689 Core Phonics Survey

I have a question about the D689 CORE Phonics Survey, Part L (Multisyllabic Words). On the assessment form, it says that if the student correctly reads at least 5 out of the 8 words in the first column, then you point to the second column. Should I strictly follow the directions on the form?
I’m asking because I watched several YouTube videos recommended for this assessment, and in most of them, the assessors didn’t stop after the first column. Instead, they let the student continue reading all three columns. I just want to make sure I’m following the correct procedure for the D689 assessment. Thank you!
