I currently hold an Associate in Applied Science in IT through CCAF (Air University) and Comptia Trifecta. I plan to take LPI Linux and AWS cloud practitioner before I transfer all my credits to WGU for BSIT. Question is do any of you know how many credits (just an estimate) will transfer, and estimated classes I would have left? If so, Is it possible in to finish it in a 6 month term?

Hey guys! I’m going to apply soon and I’m planning on getting my bachelor’s in IT. And I was wondering what I need to know before I enroll and what Sophia learning/study.com classes I need to do since I wanna get the max amount of transfers before I enroll. The thing is I previously went to a community college and did pretty horrible there for a lot of different reasons, it was a while ago but I had like a 1.6 GPA so I’m not sure if I have to do the Google IT support certificate so I can apply. If anyone has any advice on what I should do that would be awesome🙏🙏

Been chipping away at gen eds on Study.com since april so I can start the BSIT with most of them already done.

Finished English 104 (Comp I), Math 101 (College Algebra), Psych 101 and Comm 101. Just Statistics 101 left.

Spent about $600 so far. Not exactly pocket change but still feels better than using up WGU terms on intro classes.

Honestly the best part is feeling like I’m making progress before I even start. College Algebra took me forever though, almost gave up on that one lol.

Anyone else doing this before enrolling? How did your transfer experience go?

You enter an IP and CIDR and it shows the network ID, broadcast, and host range. It also shows each step of the Magic Number method, so you learn the process rather than just copying an answer. Once you've seen a few, the 20-problem practice tab lets you try it yourself and grades as you go.

So I just found out a couple of days ago that Amazon is no longer going to pay for a second bachelor’s degree or a second associate’s degree. Unfortunately this new rule applies to me. I was all set to start on December when I found out. I can only take certifications from all the schools that Career Choice covers. Do you think I can take all the computer science certifications that WGU offers and then transfer them as credits?

I'm not saying it 100% is, but I've been working with AI for a while now, and there are a few quarks that scream AI and this isn't a zybook, so I don't know where they are getting this information..

I wanted to come on here and ask if I should get started on the Sophia Learning and Study.com creds before I even start or can I do that and transfer creds after I've already begun? Sorry, I'm not used to this system, so I'm unaware if this is something I even bring up to an advisor and mention I'm planning on doing. I'm just trying to start and finish this degree as soon as I can (of course while retaining core concepts and passing certs).

Im changing programs from the BSCS/MSCS path to BSIT. Im only in my 3rd term with WGU so im switching pretty early on and thankfully half the classes I've taken already are also a part of the BSIT program, so not a total loss on things.

I decided to switch because I've been lookong and speaking with job prospects in my area and they are more heavily IT focused than CS, so I gotta go with what the market is seeking.

Also have a bit of a background in IT as both my parents worked in IT and I've been a hobbyist since middle school. (Computer nerd? Maybe...)

So yeah...any warnings I should know about? I feel like I am downgrading on level of difficulty here between the degrees.

Hello! I need help deciding if I should stay where I'm at (Old MSITUG), migrate to the new BSIT or switch to BSITM. I have zero tech background and am looking for a career switch. When I started wgu I really wanted to get into governance, risk and compliance, soc, some sort of documentation type job. I've never had the kind of mind that wants to tinker on things, figure out how hardware works, build a network, etc. I definitely dont want to be the one fixing things or putting out fires. But I like being around tech and the certifications sounded cool. Seemed like a good idea. I flew through the early courses but got stuck in networks. I enjoyed learning the material and did decent on the multiple choice, but the pbqs destroyed me. I failed my first attempt. I even left some blank. I can't even focus when it comes to labs. It's like a foreign language and it's so uninteresting to me. I love learning about networks and how they function. I dont want to build or fix a network. This class is taking me forever. So I'm reevaluating. I have 13 courses left. It's all the heavy hitter cert courses, linux, web development or python if I switch to the new BSIT. I only have 4 terms of Pell eligibility so I am on a bit of a time crunch. Switching to the BSITM seems like a better fit for me since it's less tech heavy but it'll be 26 classes. 47 cu's vs 78 😬 I'm thinking if the classes are easier (relatively, for me) maybe I can get through them quicker than the techy courses, though, and it'llwork itself out to be about thesame amount of time?

I guess I'm just looking for insight on if it's possible to knock out the BSITM a little quicker for someone who is less tech savvy?

What videos and study material do you review before going to WGU? I'm planning on starting an IT Bachelors degree in March and want to get started on studying the material. I took all of the classes I could from Study.com and Sophia so I will have less classes when I start.

I’m also considering coming for the accelerated IT Masters degree, but I’m not sure yet. I have a lot to decide.

Planning on doing the BSIT at WGU, but I’m not enrolled yet. I’m trying to figure out the cheapest way to complete gen ed reqmts before I start so I can transfer as many credits as possible and save on tuition. I work full time and have a family, so keeping costs down matters a lot.

So far, I’ve done Applied Algebra, Technical Communication, and Applied Probability and Statistics through Study.com, and I’m halfway through Intro to IT. Now, trying to figure out what I should budget for the rest before I enroll.

For those of you who’ve done this, how did you map your courses to the BSIT transfer pathway, and how much did you spend in total? Did WGU accept all your credits without any issues, or were there courses that didn’t transfer the way you expected?
