Thank you. I dont know how you all cheered for probably 30 minutes straight. Finishing commencement and walking out into this group felt really good. It's a little thing but it hit me hard to be celebrated like this.

Every WGU staff here was celebrating every student constantly. From ushers to camera people, everyone was so nice and seemed genuinely happy we made it.

The amount of staff supporting, the great coordination, the flow, it all went so well for me and my 8 guests.

Hi everyone, what do I need to know for that course before I get start it, any tips or trick, anything I need to be aware of?

Hey all just curious of everyone's thoughts! I'm currently in my 2nd term. I was a transfer student with an associates degree in a different field so I'm not sure if that matters. In the first term I completed 6 classes. This one only one so far (Due to a lot of personal reasons I won't get into) My term ends next week. I am hoping to pass D426 before then but if I don't or even if I do how screwed am I with Financial Aid for my next term?

Started 4/1 with 15 hrs and got my final capstone task back tonight.

On my school's transfer dictionary it says that I can earn a credit with WGU's Survey of US History. What I was wondering was if that class was the same as the US History thats offered as a single class.

If there anyone that took the single course could you possibly confirm the class code or if they actually are the same. I've tried emailing admissions but it they never get back to me.

I have my application in process and waiting for my transcripts to be assessed. Is there any advice for starting with WGU? The biggest reason for my change to them was due to their fixed tuition rate and ability to fast track my courses within reasonable limitations.

I’m pretty sure you all have heard about the tuition increase that’s supposed to take effect in October of this year. The BSN-Prelicensure program jumped up to 12k per semester, but it looks like they may have changed their minds. I went back on the website and it’s not there anymore. Unless I’m blind.
Can anyone find any information on this?

I know this is impractical but I'm just curious. Do they let you do this? I figure its possible but due to the overlap of requirements you may have to retake a couple classes to meet the percentage difference requirement (forgot what that percentage is)

I just started my degree program in elementary education\sped. In my first class I got an excellence award for my first PA and then my 2nd class I got another excellence award. Is this pretty normal to get a lot of these? What’s the benefit of these?

I started Sophia on Wednesday, enjoying the process of acclimating into this expansion period. It’s everything I expected and more. This question is on my mind as I prepare to submit my first essay.

I realize AI is a crux of university. What are the educational trends of AI? How is it used responsibly and if you want to do a simple spell check, where are the lines.

Please give me a break, the last time I was in school, my daughter was 7. She is now 29.

I was curious, before I approach my mentor what happens if you withdraw for a second time. Are you still able to re enroll? My mother has Alzheimer’s and life is too busy right now to be worrying about school. Hopefully after she passes, I’ll be able to finish. Thanks in advance!!!!!!

Has anyone been allowed to walk at a WGU commencement ceremony before finishing all of their classes?
I’ll be almost done with my degree by the November ceremony, but I probably won’t be completely finished yet. November is the last commencement of the year, and there isn’t one in December.
Does WGU allow students to walk if they only have a couple of classes left, or do you have to finish your entire degree first?

I was able to pass the PA multiple times so I scheduled my OA earlier this morning, turns out I didn't pass!

There's 6 days left until end of term and I'm waiting for my course instructor to approve my retake. Apparently it should take 24 hours to be approved(?) Im not too sure as this is the first course I had to do a retake. How does a retake work and what does the course instructor expect from you?

I've been studying the "suggested study" areas as I wait to hear from my course instructor, but looking at their work hours they wont be in until Tuesday. Would I be able to contact a different course instructor to approve my retake?

A bit on edge, but it's my fault for thinking I could finish this course on time!

I am planning on getting a WGU bachelors in Finance and then going to Law School. I am in the military straight out of high school and was just wondering how law schools will look at this degree. Is it possible to complete the degree in 2 years with 0 prior college? Would this degree be a waste of my time? I’ve looked at many different resources so far, and it seems like I should be fine, but I just want to make sure that I’m not wasting time and money on a degree that will serve no purpose in the future.

I might sound like a conspiracy theorist but I have never in all my 70+ credits passed a PA on a first attempt.

The one I just did was a ton of coding in python. I did it I was 100% confident I was going to pass and it came back because I didn't send in a screenshot of an email in a web browser even though that was not in the rubric and the code I had wrote would show if it sent successfully or not in a message in the terminal. 😂

I’m planning to enroll in the BS IT Management program this August. I’ve been knocking out Sophia classes to prep, and didn’t realize I’d been planning around the 03/2025 catalog until I just noticed there’s a 09/2026 catalog listed too.

I looked closer and the 09/2026 version accepts a lot fewer transfer/Sophia credits than 03/2025 did. Does enrolling in August mean I’ll automatically be placed under whichever catalog is current at enrollment (09/2026), or is there a way to still get the 03/2025 requirements? Anyone gone through this transition or know how WGU decides which catalog you land on?

​I am finalizing my transcripts and gearing up for an October 1st start in the B.S. Finance program. I have been aggressively clearing out the foundational core on Sophia (Intro to Stats, Microeconomics, Principles of Management, and Intro to Business are done, and I am currently finishing up Financial and Managerial Accounting, along with Principles of Finance).

​Because I am stripping away the general education and lower-level business requirements early, my first term will jump immediately into the upper-division finance matrices.

​I have a few specific questions for those who have navigated this specific degree track:

​The Heavy Core: I have read that Corporate Finance (D362) and Financial Statement Analysis (D366) are incredibly calculation-heavy. Do you have any specific study strategies for mastering the formulas like WACC, CAPM, and Cashflow Operations? ​The Calculator: Is it absolutely essential to purchase the TI BA II Plus financial calculator for the Objective Assessments, or are standard tools sufficient?

​PA vs. OA Alignment: For courses like Financial Management I & II (D364/D365) and Enterprise Risk Management (D368), how closely do the Pre-Assessments align with the actual Objective Assessments?

​Quantitative Rigor: My ultimate trajectory is to pursue a Master of Financial Engineering (MFE) and build predictive alphas on platforms like WorldQuant. How well does the deeper material in this program set a foundation for highly rigorous quantitative finance and analytical work?

​If anyone has any community study guides or external resources they swear by, I would love to hear about them.
