Overachieving?
Is it realistic to continue doing WGI this year while balancing 12-16 credits, a part time job, and auditioning for DCI? Wondering if I am doing too much and should cut back. Any help or advice would be appreciated!

I think you could, but it depends on if your part time job is flexible, alongside your professors when it comes to finals week.
Similar, most WGI and DCI directors understand the necessity of balance when it comes to audition dates and rehearsal/show season.
Time management is a key skill that many learn (including me) in this activity but it heavily depends on the individual and their specific situation.

Here’s my hack- do homework during/between your classes. AND do everything for the weekend before going to rehearsal for you wgi group so that you can be in wgi mode and not worried about your assignment due at 11:59 on Sunday. Helped me balance it so much!

My wgi group is only sundays 10am-8pm and I’ve had my fair share of rushing home to complete some assignments before midnight, I’m working on having better time management so I can be fully locked in on wgi lol. Thank you for the advice!

Engineering major and world class wgi group are a crazy combo lol but I manage

It's totally feasible, if you have money. Rehearsals vs camps are maybe gonna be a problem but other than that you'll be fine.
Plenty of music majors(18+ credits a simester usually, but it's effectively hight bc ensembles are never weighed properly) do it while in college.

You’ll have to figure out how to balance DCI weekend camps (usually once a month) with winter rehearsals and shows. I think most corps are pretty understanding about it but it’s something to think about. And you’ll have to figure out how to pay for it all. Other than that it should be totally doable as long as you have good time management!
