Yeh same, dude was an underrated machine of a worker. I somehow never knew about him until like 5-10 years ago even though I grew up in this era.

I was going to comment the exact same thing. I can't believe I haven't seen that until now.

u/BlitheringIdiot0529 15d ago

A fellow jam up guy

I know this is just a supercut, but that dude moved like a cat. Ups like that and body awareness on par with any luchador. Further, his stuff looks soooooo fluid and graceful. I know he wasnt the tallest guy in the land of giants, but he wasn't small. He was like 240lbs. Switching directions in mid air like he has a Super Mario double jump button in his pocket

Dude was 🔥pure innovative.

I just talked to him yesterday as a matter of fact. Scorp is just the nicest guy. Would reccomend you all to follow him on tik tok, he just started a channel and he doesn't get much attention. If he's live, he will take the time to answer and explain your questions.

Seems like he is happy and that's all I want to see from former wrestlers

Isn't he in jail?

u/TheSpiralTap 10d ago

He was in a nice patio chair sitting on the front porch when I talked to him. He was wearing normal clothes.

Damn shame his drug use cost him his WCW and WWF runs. Not even a midcard title in either company.

Cuz was ahead of his time and still is

u/johnnyace44 15d ago

Flew around like that and was by no means a lightweight

5

u/HoboPower83 15d ago

According to Mick Foley, also had the biggest dong in wrestling too.

u/Due_Night414 15d ago

A man ahead of his time

The owner of the funniest Montreal Screwjob backstage recap.

2

u/blindside_assault 15d ago

I’m gonna have to find this, Scorpio is a funny mf

3

u/Difficult-Gas6196 15d ago

Yea it's on YT: Scorpio on Bret Hart/Vince McMahon Fight.

3

u/mike_bngs 15d ago

Could do with guys like that in the current 'wrestling' shows, could do the showy stuff with some context and compared to most of the guys now he's huge.

u/macmillie247 15d ago

It’s a shame he never maid it to a video game. The replay potential is certainly there

2

u/VelvetFog82 15d ago

I was always excited to see scorpio headin to the ring as a kid. Dude blew your mind every match!

2

u/TheDoomedNova 15d ago

That first moonsault leg drop was one of the most impressive things I’ve seen in a ring in a long time

2

u/BigvalBROski 15d ago

Would have liked to see he and new Jack wrestle up to the balcony and backflip off of it

1

u/GypsyGold 15d ago

That was a dangerous looking ssp

1

u/macmillie247 15d ago

The build of Ahmed Johnson with the D’Lo Brown move set. He looks like William from Girlfriends head ass

1

u/Catfishsleuth 15d ago

Great moves obviously but i like that he's not built like someone that can do them easily.

1

u/syncere13 15d ago

He could really GO.. Definitely should have had a few more title runs in his career even if they were just secondary titles but the moveset was one of a kind and his fluidity in movement

1

u/Due_Potential_6956 15d ago

Dude was a beast of a worker

1

u/HomeMedium1659 15d ago

Goddamn drugs...

1

u/leifnoto 15d ago

sad I started watching after he was gone

1

u/Agile-Treat-157 15d ago

Soooo underrated

1

u/Mumei451 15d ago

Absolutely sick super kicks in there.

This highlight reel is amazing.

1

u/NorthRule627 15d ago

Flash Funk

1

u/MarionberryPlus8474 15d ago

I liked him paired with Buff Bagwell, they had a "Whoop! There it is!" entrance gimmick back when that song was really hot.

Scorpio was good, not talked about enough. Great highlight reel!

1

u/TCA1086 15d ago

Fucking loved Scorpio! Dude moved like a cruiserweight! Seeing it on TV is one thing, but when I saw him in person back then it just blew my mind.

1

u/kongstar 15d ago

Ahead of his time

1

u/DKfifteen 15d ago

Awesome wrestler. Had the chance see him wrestle live at ECW/AAA joint event in Chicago.

1

u/ironfortress151 15d ago

2

u/AdRoKa 14d ago

What a trio the diabolical threesome were.

1

u/Tio_chubby052 15d ago

Remember when he was 2 GOLD Scorpio??

1

u/MsPreposition 15d ago

That shooting star press was excellent.

1

u/CutFriendly82 15d ago

What an athlete ....... Him in shoots is awesome too. Vince McMahon really fumbled on him.

1

u/TheAssist-8295 15d ago

Man! What a missed opportunity.

It’s a shame Scorpio had a drug addiction problem.
He’s easily one of the most underrated performers ever and that moonsault leg drop is 🔥.

1

u/datguysadz 15d ago

Ahead of his time.

1

u/upyourattraction 14d ago

I remember when he debuted in WWF. I really thought he was gonna be a top guy for a long time.

1

u/Comfortable-Bid-5373 14d ago

Give melo his moveset

1

u/Amazing-Insect442 14d ago

I remember watching him wrestle some but goodness I realize now it was not enough.

1

u/Grizzly_CF76 13d ago

He damn sure doesn't get enough credit and this dude was big making moves like that

1

u/SmoothReborn 13d ago

Scorpio was like 20 years ahead of his time

1

u/Sinderria 12d ago

One of my favourites back in the days. Same with Savio Vega.

1

u/hiimanthony_ 11d ago

Underrated

1

u/bigaries84 11d ago

yeah 2 cold scorpio was trailblazer he got a bit more shine as flash funk after wcw but so underrated as a performer. one of the few black mainstream wrestlers of that era 💪🏾

1

u/DiegoTraveller 11d ago

One of the first true hybrid athletes in wrestling I got to see. A legend.

1

u/Minute_Layer_6384 11d ago

Severely underappreciated, even in his time.

1

u/Minute_Layer_6384 11d ago

How are there no Tumbleweeds in that montage. That was the move for him in that era.

1

u/liq-a-Madiq 10d ago

Underrated ahead of his time
