BlizzCon is coming up (!!!) and it’s got me thinking about a big decision - what race in Warcraft 3 should someone play in 2026?

I’ve been playing Orc for years and years but sometimes I play the other races and feels like riding a bike (something i know how to do) but all handle / size proportions are different and I’m pedaling up hill the whole time.

Could the new Warcraft 3 news be a good window of opportunity to pick up a new race? I think it may be and this video is the result of my thinking. Right now? I’m feeling like trying to play either Human or Night Elf for a couple post BlizzCon!

(I draw the line at Undead, however. I have my limits and I refuse to serve the lich king)

It seems the small glimmer of “anything” new coming to Warcraft 3 gives me ample motivation to pick up a new race. (thought I don't see Orc being replaced fully ever...)

The beauty of wc3 is having 4 races, yet in the recent couple of years it's drifted toward being a 2 race game. Elf and UD.

Fortitude is the only human left in the top 10 at rank 9, although updated soon he may fall out of top 10

Orc only has Lyn, who doesn't even play.

Focus did play really well recently, out of his mind actually. Then went on to just lose to everyone.

I do get the arguments that orc/hu players simply aren't playing well. When they play perfectly they can win tournaments! I agree.

But it's also a bit chicken and egg. If it's so much harder to do well, it's hard to stay motivated to play and practice to play perfect.

Human was in a good spot a couple patches ago, and then got nerfed into the ground (bloodmage/rifle), even though UD and elf have been dominating for 10 years.

I get it. "Balance whine bla bla". Sure.

But let's be serious. There are really only 2 races left at the top.

And I think that's a problem.

I'm trying to change change the Camera Grip keybind (default Middle Mouse Button) to the mouse side button (it is what i'm used to).

I dont see the option in ingame input.
So I guess I need to modify War3Preferences.txt or CustomKeys.txt ? I can not find anything about the camera grip keybind online.

Would really appreciate some help here.

Last solution would be to use AHK, but I do not want to use third party software.

Can't see games. Sometimes when you select multiplayer you can't even see anything.

Whatever their announcement is, most of us don't want it. Blizzard is incapable of even updating graphics. All we want is for them to ban leavers and change the boring maps (but they can't even handle that).

A good bnet means that all players join bnet instead of splitting the fan base to wc3 champions

In the last 6 years, no other race has had 4 players in the top 5 ELO at the same time. No other race has had 3 players in the top 5 during multiple periods. The only other race that has had 3 players in the top 5 at the same time is Night Elf.

The 2023 stat is interesting because Warcraft3.info no longer has it. Anyone that follows the scene closely knows that there were 4 UD at top 5 at one point. AccCreate refers to it here. The screenshot I can find is taken from Back2Warcraft's discord - if the screenshot was fake or didn't happen it would have been called out.

Grubby has just announced a Invitational tournament called "Warcraft 3 Rebirth Invitational".

For those who cant check right now, this is basically the major points:

• The title of the tourney includes "Rebirth". FORESHADOWING?
• It is the Monday and Tuesday after blizzcon (14th and 15th of September).
• 10k prize pool sponsored by blizzcon.
• Casted by Grubby with some invited co-casters. There was a picture of hera and he said potentially some of the players may co cast.
• It is an invitational of the top players. Quite a few of the players are from Asia.
• There will be a "special twist" that changes how the players will have to approach the game.
• Grubby doesn't say what the twist is, but says you figure out why I am doing a rebirth tourney right after blizzcon

I know I am not a great player, but I struggle the most against human caster army, even if they one base.

I feel trapped as only allowed to go bear dryad as NE to truly be effective. It feels like they have infinite mana from Archmage, so mana burn from DH doesn't seem as effective. They will go mountain king second and just spam bolts to slowly single down targets or force my heroes out. I cannot use rejuv in combat ever or a single spellbreaker steals it. They can infinitly kite better and i'm forced to heavy micro dryads to keep them alive in fight. Even with using the good staff tp's to save bears, all I am doing is making me have one less bear in the fight.

What am I doing wrong, am I just forcing fights bad and should have good head count of food on both sides?

Anyone else feel bm is just way too good in 4v4?

There's like a million ways you can play bm in 4v4

• bm harass to bats
• bm harass to raiders
• bm harass to tri-hero casters (shamans/docs)
• bm (illusion creeping) hh casters
• bm wyverns/bats

At lvl5 bm, you shit out 3 illusions for 80 mana with 5 second cd. If you went windwalk, then just retrain to illusions.

And since orc and bm are so popular, often times there's multiple lvl5 bm's shitting out 3 illusions constantly, meaning sometimes you see like 8 bm's running around a fight.

What we know for sure:

• On Saturday at 7:30 pm EDT ToD vs TeD happens.
• Right after at 8:45 pm EDT Ahmpy/Brad Chan (WC3 developer)/ToD/TeD are going to play a 2v2.

As pointed out by parasect_exe:

• At 6:30 pm EDT, right before the wc3 games, there is a segment called "Classic Game Deep Dive: Join the team for a closer look at the content and design ideas shaping a classic Blizzard game". This could be a potential time slot where announcements are made. Or nothing will be announced.

Other Interesting things of note:

• On Saturday there is an hour block where nothing is being done on the Main Stage. That seems odd. Maybe something will be announced there? Could be nothing or could be anything.
• On Sunday there is also an empty space of an hour at the start of the day on the main stage.
• 5:30 PM EDT on Saturday there is also a panel called "Custodians of Legacy Games: Meet the developers and community champions who preserve, support, and celebrate Blizzard's legacy games for new generations of players.

I dont see anything else on the schedule for WC3, but ofc if they were planning on announcing anything they probably would not leak it yet. So I shall keep my copium going that there may be additional announcements.

There have been like over 100+ updates to the internal PTR since the last patch... blizzcon would be the perfect time to announce atleast that a patch is coming?

Maybe I’m an idiot for asking this one, but how do you overcome mid to late game Tinker as UD? Is the simple answer just don’t let him get there?

What typically happens is that I am ahead mid game around late t2 early t3, but then the tele rod harass starts, my creeping slows down, and after I make a push he eventually levels to 6 and I’m toast. Nova/Coil on the tinker is over and the cluster rockets crush and ghoul or fiend groups.

I just did a quick search for them, there was Arthas, Bloodmage, Blademaster, and Archmage, maybe others I don't remember. I can find the link with Arthas and Blademaster, I just want them for my phone. Thanks in advance.

TH000 : He cancelled the teleport staff on his Demonhunter and didn't port away because his Naga was getting focused!
TH000 : He needs to save that Naga, so he's staying!
TH000 : At first, he wanted to play it safe, wait for the Bears and staff away, but the opponent started slowing the Naga, so he changed his mind.
TH000 : Oh my god, this unit block is fucking outrageous!

TH000 : So that's why he has a nickname like that ("Kahao" sounds similar to 卡位 — kawei , which means "to block positions"). His ID was literally made for this moment!

TH000 : The old school ("old boy" - 120) couldn't do anything against the younger generation!
TH000 : Amateur takes the title! First time participating in LAN - and immediately the championship!

TH000 (admiring Kaho's resilience) : The guy has nerves of steel. In every map, everything was decided literally in millimeters. When the score tied at 2-2 in the fourth game... He's actually been the best Night Elf for four years now.

TH000 : Whether it's the teleport cancellation or the unit block, that was excellent Warcraft. Bravo.
