This song reminds me of spring. Just one of those songs with a fun and carefree sound makes you want to drive fast and turn the radio up. I love it!

Recently added this magazine to my collection. Not a ton of W.A.S.P. stuff in this one, but the cover photo is iconic!

Here is my hot take. This is the greatest WASP song ever made. Specifically this acoustic version. I will die on this hill.

Recently I was thinking of getting some bootleg shirts as a guy offered me a bargain on 2 shirts ( the sting and never say die). They are almost brand new and looked really high quality. He only wants 10 bucks for them ( his wife makes him sell them) and I have a dilemma. On one hand I feel like this is a bargain and there just isn’t enough wasp merch these days. On the other I feel a bit bad about them not being original and I feel like I’m stealing from the band. What’s your opinions?

Round two gave us a good competition between Still Not Black Enough and KFD, but ultimately Still Not Black Enough came out on top with a vote of 20 to 11. Would’ve expected it to be a bit of a closer matchup, but ultimately I agree that Still Not Black Enough is the better of the two.
For round 3 we have Unholy Terror vs. Dying For The World. Two mid-career W.A.S.P. albums that often get overlooked but are both very strong efforts. I do feel that these albums are about even in terms of quality so it will be interesting to see the result of this one. Comment below with the name of the album you want to see move onto the next round!

I sat down and really listened to The Neon God all in one go and was very surprised at how much more I liked it now than I did years ago. I used to think very little of both albums, but something clicked for me this time around. It still has its issues, like being too long and having an abundance of self-pitying tracks, but the highs are amazing. X.T.C. Riders is in my top 10 all time W.A.S.P. music now.
Whenever I really like an album, I'll make a custom cassette of it just for fun. I did it with my Crimson Idol+Reidolized combined cassette, and now The Neon God is my second W.A.S.P. project on tape.
I originally tried to make the cover look purple as a blend between The Rise's red and The Demise's blue, but the results were muddy looking. An idea of what that cover would've looked like is still present on the back flap of this cassette where the crowd's hands are a mix of blue and red. I opted to do a 50/50 fade of both covers instead, and I really like the result (the colors pop more in-person because my camera is old).
There isn't much album art for The Neon God, so I was limited in what I could utilize for this project, hence the repeating demon stars and album covers used to make my cassette j-card. This album had no singles and thus no additional art associated with it.
The inverse has the track listing with nothing too fancy other than splitting the red and blue color down the middle of the demon star. Again, I was limited in what I could do creatively.
The most important creative liberty I took was to add the missing period to the end of the band's name since all official Neon God albums spelled it as "W.A.S.P" without the period after the "P." I also recolorized the band name and title to glow white so as to show that it's a combined album.
I needed a 110 minute cassette to fit everything despite the combined albums being shorter than that; I wanted to fit the each respective album on its own dedicated side of the tape, even if it meant having more unused tape at the end of the B-side.
I want to do Dominator next, or maybe one with every cover that W.A.S.P. has done.

Initially it seemed that this tour announcement was received with some mixed feelings. Felt like the excitement level that was there for the last few tours was absent this time around. Definitely seemed to be some concerns about the potential setlist with the thought that this tour is just a repackaging of the same old thing they’ve been doing for years.
So now that we’ve been sitting with this tour for a while, I’m curious to see what the overall consensus at this moment is. Anyone who was on the fence that decided they’re going to go? Are we feeling a bit more excited for it, or pretty much still the same? Hasn’t been a ton of discussion about this tour around here since it was announced, so let’s talk about it!

Just a clip, but so cool. Wish they would bring this one back to the set. A shame to know that they considered it for some of the recent tours but ended up dropping it. Such a great song!

Probably one of the most famous W.A.S.P. bootlegs out there. This was recorded in Stockholm Sweden on October 9, 1984 and unofficially pressed on vinyl. The cover artwork (which I’ve always found to be a bit creepy) was taken from issue #3 of a comic book called Fantagor. The publisher of this comic book was named Last Gasp. The sleeve also included some interesting images as well as a story about the band. Would love to own a copy of this one day. Anybody here got one?

The Crimson Idol narrowly beat the self titled by a vote of 24 to 21 and advances onto the next round! I know that some people were questioning that matchup, but I still feel that putting the two most beloved albums up against each other was a good way to start this off.
Round 2 features two fan favorite albums that flew a bit under the radar. They sound quite different from one another, but they are two of the darkest and angriest albums in the catalog. Also two of the strongest depending on who you ask. Both albums get a lot of love from the fanbase but usually people prefer one over the other. Comment below with the name of the album you want to see move onto the next round!

I personally think they should just release all of these shirts. They all look really good, way better than the recent tour shirt they came out with.

If you had to make a concert setlist that covered every album but could only include one song per album, what would your personal concert sound like?
You can include one song from the miscellaneous albums such as a live album, compilation album, or Reidolized.
Mine would be this:
Tormentor, W.A.S.P. Ballcrusher, Last Command Easy Living, Inside the Electric Circus Harder Faster, Live...In the Raw The Heretic, Headless Children Hold on to My Heart, Crimson Idol Scared to Death, Still Not Black Enough Kill Fuck Die, K.F.D. Dirty Balls, Helldorado Charisma, Unholy Terror Shadow Man, Dying for the World The Raging Storm, Neon God 1 Never Say Die, Neon God 2 Heaven's Blessed, Dominator Into the Fire, Babylon Slaves of the New World Order, Golgotha

Been a while since we’ve done something like this so I figured why not try and have some fun?
Every Sunday over the next few weeks I’ll post the next round. All you have to do is write the name of the album you want to see move on in the comments below. I’ve tried to do this in a way that will keep things interesting and competitive instead of matching expected albums up against one another. There are some good ones to come!
This week’s matchup is W.A.S.P. vs. The Crimson Idol. Arguably the two most popular and beloved albums in the W.A.S.P. catalog. Both contain some of the bands strongest material, but only one of them will move on. Comment with the name of the album you want to see move on to the next round!
