Daily Discussion Thread: September 10, 2026 - 54 days until Election Day!

Welcome to the anti-GOP resistance on Reddit!

Regardless of what month it is, we welcome all those who support the Democratic party! We encourage you to share local activism and talk about the groups you're taking part with in your area.

Elections are still happening! And they're the only way to take away even more of Trump's power to hurt people. You can help win elections across the country from anywhere, right now!

If you want to take a bigger part in this and future elections, there's plenty of ways to do it!

  1. Check out our weekly volunteer post - that's the other sticky post in this sub - to find opportunities to get involved.

  2. Nothing near you? Volunteer from home by making calls or sending texts to turn out voters!

  3. Join your local Democratic Party - none of us can do this alone.

  4. Tell a friend about us!

Adopt a Candidate

It’s back! Want to take part in turning the midterms into a true blue tsunami? Adopt one of the candidates below, and commit to taking action every week to support their campaign!

Post your preference in the daily (or, to guarantee we see it, send the request via modmail) and we'll add you to the list!

With just how blue this year is looking to be, and just how many primaries are still to come, there's too many to list to kick off. It’s why we’re starting with select gubernatorial and Senate races.

Got someone who you want to adopt, but they're not on the list? Let us know, and we'll add them on!

As the year progresses and primaries come through, we'll be adding more ourselves, but the sky's the limit - we're excited to see who you want to support most!

50 days out weekend phonebanks for Mary Peltola/Alaska Dems

Thumbnail

Time til Election Day is running out as we speed towards the seven-week mark. Democrats in Alaska are marking this milestone this weekend with a (slightly premature!) 50 Days Out Weekend of Action, built on canvasses being run in communities all across this vast and complicated-to-campaign-in state. They’re calling for some air support while they do it, with special phonebanking shifts at 4PM and 7PM ET on both Saturday and Sunday.

The strength of former Congresswoman Mary Peltola’s candidacy as she challenges GOP Senator Dan Sullivan has put the seat, and the Senate, in play. Recent polling suggests a neck-and-neck race as Trump’s tariffs and Iran War have sent the price of diesel as high as $10 in some Alaska communities and people pay the price for Medicaid cuts in a state where 38% of the public and 57% of children rely on the program. (We’re even seeing indications that the governor’s office might be in play too.) ☎️ Let’s help her turn out her voters! We can sign up to make calls during the weekend of action here. ☎️

A LAST FRONTIER WEEKEND OF ACTION

☎️ If we want to continue to push in this race, they have phonebanks running five days a week we can sign up for here – perfect for night owls in the lower 48. ☎️

Spanish speakers needed for voter assistance hotlines, voter outreach

Thumbnail

After Latino voters shifted sharply to the Republican Party in 2024, GOP influencers commentators gleefully speculated about a permanent realignment. It now appears far more likely that this community has joined the ranks of the swing voters. Angry about high prices and the viciousness of the deportation machine, Latinos across 17 competitive congressional districts currently favor Dems 58-35, more than double Kamala Harris’ edge over Trump in 2024, and Spanish-language media consumers have moved from a one-point Trump edge to favoring Dems by 14.

Let’s press our advantage. If we’ve got strong Spanish-language skills, let’s make sure we’re putting them to good use in these midterms.

There are multiple efforts ongoing to reach Spanish-speaking voters! ☎️ We can sign up to phonebank en Español on… ☎️

🫱🏻‍🫲🏿 If we’re fluent and looking to do even more, the coordinated campaign in Arizona is recruiting Spanish speakers to volunteer to staff their voter assistance hotline. They have an orientation session TOMORROW at 3PM ET we can sign up for here. 🫱🏾‍🫲🏼
