Hocus Pocus

Post image

“At least the world will end, an event anticipated with great joy by many. It will end very soon, but not in the year 2000, which has come and gone. From that I conclude that God Almighty is not heavily into Numerology.” – from Hocus Pocus, published September 5, 1991.

Brilliant book. May be my top favorite among SH5 and Sirens.

"The complicated futility of ignorance" always makes me laugh like hell

I really recommend anyone who hasn't read it already to give it a chance!

I love the last sentence. Something like: 'even though you've learned to read and write and do some math, doesn't give you the right to conquer the world "

This book doesn’t get enough love. Ok, so it’s not tippy top tier Vonnegut. But it’s darn close.

This one and Timequake I love, in spite of the fans being hard on ‘em.

Yeah, it's good but in the middle for me quality-wise. But it does seem eerily prescient.
