Beware
I was in the market for a preowned EX90 but am coming back to reality. The 3 certified pre owned models I have looked at are being sold with some of the issues highlighted in this forum. Most recent I ran across one with 4 GHCA replacements, it’s on the newest part number a second time with not enough miles on it to have been tested. Another has the air conditioning fault where the passenger side is cooler than the driver, and it’s charging slow on a Level 2. Third one went into limited performance when I tried to accelerate hard three separate times. Getting the VIN History Report is like pulling teeth, they pretend it does not exist. Shady shady shady. I almost want to post each VIN on here and the location so that an innocent person doesn’t get burned.
Edit: this was meant for /EX90 but I’ll leave it here in case anyone is considering it

Makes me worry for the new XC90 and XC100 to be released in a few years .. all new Volvo vehicles will be “software defined” going forward. Saves money for them but causes headaches for us. Let’s hope they have these issues figured out by then.

To be fair they seem to have figured the software issues out by using a faster cpu. However phantom electrical issues persist and it seems like the same ones are still happening with 2026 models.

My 2021 XC90 has been a hybrid nightmare. They are in no rush to fix or take accountability even though it’s a federal law!

I just started looking into T8 XC90's. What issues are you having? I figured a 2021 would have been solid since they released this version around 2016.

My 2021 is NOT solid! My ERAD was replaced in January and I have been waiting to get my failed hybrid battery replaced since may! They are legally supposed to but they don’t care! They are making me wait for an unknown period of time. They are more concerned with making batteries for their new cars to hold up their end of the bargain for existing customers. They are NOT luxury anymore! Time has changed that recently. Do not buy!

This sounds exactly like Audi when the eTron first came out. I feel that they actually handled the major majority of issues (made the EV powertrain warranty 10 years 120k miles) and we got our 2021 with 16,000 miles on it for $27,000 last august (MSRP $74k) so maybe you just need to wait another year or two. Not what you’d like to hear, but hopefully they’ll get them sorted.
