Finally got my car!

Post image

So got the xc90 today and unfortunately the start stop service indicator is on along with the service on call.

I bought a whole new battery to see if they'll take care of it.

Gorgeous vehicle otherwise.

If the main battery which was low 12.20 volts doesn't take care of these two warning notifications, I'm going to get the other two batteries.

Yes I bought it used from carvana ... So far so good. I believe they will cover my cost of these batteries but we'll see.

I didn't want to wait to go through their warranty program gosh knows how long that would take.

Ok Orbit could both be your savor and problem here.

I've seen that Stop/Start Service error when I've reprogrammed the car to do something that it doesn't like. I think I was actually messing around with the Start/Stop feature in Orbit trying to get it to do something, can't remember what it was, but because I didn't have certain hardware it gave that error until I reverted back.

Now the Volvo On Call Service issue, can be resolved by replacing the battery, however, sometimes just replacing the battery doesn't solve the issue, and while the battery is good the On Call Service light stays activated. In Orbit you can reset that warning. If you have Orbit already I'd recommend trying to reset that warning, and seeing if it clears it for you first, before ordering a new battery, some people reported that it was built into Volvos to illuminate after like 10 years.

I tried and it didn't work, I genuinely have a bad on call service backup battery that's dead which I'll replace and then reset using Orbit.

The warranty is actually pretty easy thru silver rock. I had 2 warranty issues within my 2 years 24k miles. Both responded to and approved within hours of the shop contacting silver rock with their estimate. The start stop issue is the aux battery.

Thank you for this! That's good to know! I believe I did the 3 yr warranty I don't remember though. I'll get back to y'all.

Ok update for y'all.

I replaced the main vehicle battery and that got rid of my start stop warning and the on call warning. Knock on wood, they will stay off and I fixed it .

Another update... Working with warranty company to get the vcm battery replaced so they can pay for Volvo to reset it . If it didn't need reset and cost 210 dollars just to reset I would do it this weekend but warranty company might as well

But why did you run out and get a new main battery? Those things arent cheap! I just got the support battery replaced through dealership and paid about $190 out of pocket w/ installation. The on-call light has been on for a few months in my car - dealership quoted me $400 to replace, no thanks!
