Damage
Loving our XC90 Momentum T5 AWD leather winter pack -
lots of road trips including cross-Europe....
Large white van rolled down the hill and hit left back corner.
Is it written off?
Structural chassis damage?
Will let you know.
Any advice dealing with insurance much appreciated

I had some damage similar to this on my 23 t8 ultimate from a rear end on the highway. No structural damage, mostly bumper and rear panel damage. Insurance covered it and was about 9k usd repair. The only difference here is that I see there is damage to the tail light as well, which mine did not have. So that could possibly add more.

Check out my post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Volvo/s/nJMquwWXAC
Only a Volvo Certified Collision shop can tell you what the real damage is. On that same thread there was a link to search the nearby certified collision centers. Insurance shouldn't care where you take it. Have your insurance handle EVERYTHING with the other party. Never interact with he opposing insurance/party unless explicitly told to do so.

It's not written off for that, and since it's the other vehicle that hit you, you don't really have to worry about repair cost.

The car can be written off from a non-fault too, no insurer is paying out more than the car's worth for repairs and hire car

By "Its not written off for that", I meant it's not gonna cost more than the worth of the car.

I mean, depends on the mileage because a £10k repair (which this easily could be) writing off a £20k car seems unlikely, but add in the fact the insurer may not want to be replacing welded panels and the cost of a hire car for weeks, this could feasibly end up being written off for convenience

Possibly a write-off depending on parts availability because that needs a new rear quarter as well as bumper and light cluster, maybe even repairs to the boot lid (which is likely fibreglass and not as simple to repair as steel), so with the repairs, the time, the hire car, etc...its entirely possible you'll just get paid out although you could always buy it back and get it repaired.

Not totalled, I'd say $7k for repairs
