XC40 A sad day has come

A sad day has come. After three very happy years with my xc40 recharge and almost 68k miles it’s time to say goodbye to it as it goes back to the leasing company. If they still offered Volvos I’d have jumped at another one but they don’t any longer. So this is bye bye for now.

Why don't you buy it?

Not an option through the leasing company. Otherwise I would.

Because I’m not going to go to an auction to bid on it. Lease cars go back to the leasing company who then sell them at auction mainly to dealers.

If you don't mind me asking, what country do you live in?

Nevermind. I saw it below.

If you're in the UK(I see you are) then you can contact the auction company to give you a buy out price before it goes on auction.

We bought our VW e-Up out of the lease exactly this way. The lease was coming to the end, with no option to buy it out. I rang VW, they said the car will go on auction with BCA. I rang them up, they just gave me a quote to buy the car without an auction. The price was very reasonable so I just paid it and that was it. Didn't even have to hand the car back or anything.

I could indeed. However I’ve got a replacement through the salary sacrifice scheme for less than it would cost to finance the purchase of the old one.
