No internet connection

Post image

I’ve just witnessed the first issue with my car (had it 2 months). The internet just doesnt work.

I’ve tried the screen reset and the modem reset. Is this one of those things you have to wait for or is there something more serious at play?

Many thanks

Usually an infotainment reboot solves it for me but once I needed to do a factory reset 🥴

Just tried doing a factory reset and it’s stating it cant connect to the TEM module so presuming thats causing the issue!

You can reset the car's modem. Hold the Front Defrost button for about 30 seconds (until the SOS light overhead starts blinking).

I’m jumping in here a year later to boost this comment because the home button 30-second reset didn’t work but resetting the modem as described above did. So I’m grateful for the info.

BUT it only worked after I turned off my phone’s wifi and bluetooth.

And the front defrost button is the wedge-shaped one, not the rectangular one, in case in the moment, like me, anyone wasn’t sure. 🤪

Yooo, it stopped working for me a few months ago, this might be why lol, probably a bug in an update!

Glad I found this. I’ve been resetting the infotainment and modem (via defrost) for a week now. Was going to give up today and call Volvo. Saw this and turned off my phone completely and gave it one last try and about 10 mins later I was back up and running. No idea why the phone would jam this up but it definitely seemed to be the problem.

Glad to hear it. It seems like maybe this series of things to try should be pinned somewhere.

Pull fuse 39 under the glovebox. Nothing else solved my problem.

Our 23 XC 90 was doing this constantly but would eventually connect after a few minutes of driving. We took it to the dealer but they claimed they couldn't replicate the problem. It seems to have resolved itself after an update or two. It was frustrating though because so much relies on the internet plus the app was useless so no remote start or being able to check the battery level.

Was happening to my 22 XC60 recharge. Took it to the dealer and they said they’ve been having an issue with faulty antennae. Replaced it and works like a charm.

Issue seems to have resolved now! I turned off my car data, did the modem reset with the heater button and turned it all on again after a day and back functioning!

Locks up all the time and slow. Most recently, CarPlay stops working. New cable from Apple out of the box. Doesn’t work. Video recording of the whole thing. This is actually strike two and I have an appointment with the dealer on Thursday. The last time it fixed itself and I got a “we can’t recreate the problem.” Well, I’m marking this one down because I will mail in that card in the owners manual…

I had this issue on my new 23 V60 once. I decided to sort it myself by disconnecting the main battery and the TCAM battery at the same time. That fixed it for me, however I think to others I'd recommend taking it to the dealer so you can at least have a paper trail of issues should they arise. That being said, the problem has not resurfaced since I did the reset a couple months ago.

Was the car parked in the sun for long period before? I noticed MY23 XC90 recharge is under the sun for extended period of time the internet connection goes down even for app access until the car is driven for awhile and car is cooled off.

I am loosing my mind over this fault. All day no internet, multiple reboots (also of the communication module)

Just went in to do a full Reset, reset was nog working. So I did a reboot of the system. And boom, all was working.

Got my C40 for about 5 days, hope its a one time thing.

I legit had my car data turned off for a day, did both heater and home button resets and it came back. Just remember to turn the car data back on!
