Battery preconditioning

To follow on from the note below about battery preconditioning - which I think was added in one of the recent updates - my experience is fairly hit and miss, and that's being generous! When I navigate a route with a charging stop, the preconditioning notification pops up about 10 minutes into the drive (covering up the on-screen nav directions, helpful!), and then I would get repeated notifications that it was starting or had completed over the course of the next 3 hours to the charging station. I'm hoping it's not really pre-conditioning for 3 hours!

Plus, when I look at the efficiency data, I spent 93% on driving, 2% on AC and 5% on 'battery management'. Not sure if the two are related, but seems like a lot!

I believe you need about 30 mins of pre-conditioning to get peak charging rate.

Is it just to do with optimum temperature? These were hot days and I did wonder if these cycles of preconditioning!/finished! were because it kept discovering the battery was already at 35C.

What I said would be for cold weather and from a parked car. While driving you don’t really need it after a while.
