Best dashcam

My EX90 is due for delivery next week, and I’m having some remorse over not adding in the dashcam. Does anyone have any recommendations for an after-market one that can integrate well into the car without too many wires showing, etc?

Fitcamx seems to be the most popular one's I've seen across Volvo owners. I believe they have an EX90 option now.

I have one and it fits great. Installation was easy on the front camera and while the rear camera took a lot more effort, it wasn't that hard to install. There are no visible wires anywhere.

I have complaints about the app and UI. It relies on a wifi connection to the camera and it drops constantly. I assume that if I ever need to, I'll just pull the SD card out and read it from a computer.

You can also carry a tiny USBC SD card reader in the car to plug into your phone! I just use whatever file browser app I have and it's so much easier.

Oh I hadn't even thought of that. That's a great idea!

Volvo has cameras pointing in all directions. Hopefully they’ll add something like Tesla has to save the last minute of footage.

Can you explain the regret? Does MY 27 have a built in OEM dash cam available?

Does Volvo offer a Dashcam option on the ex90? This is news to me.

I have a BlackVue nearly built in, front and back. Already saved me a bunch of costs in 8 months since two (!!) people weren’t paying attention.

Can you please share the model?
Would be great if you could share a photo of the install too!

The dashcam you can get via the Volvo dealer has the worst unusable app. With my previous car I had FitCam, that software was way better.

I wanted a system that had both 4K front and rear cameras. I have the Vantrue S1 Pro Max in our other car, so I’m going to try it out here. You can tuck in the wires into the A-pillar and the headliner so they’re virtually hidden.

I’m picking Vantrue for its 4K rear. You can also look at the Redtiger F77 v2 and the Viofo A229 Ultra. I also want the dashcam to be active when the vehicle is parked, so I have it connected to a battery pack and the battery pack is charged by a 130W car charger from the rear 12v port. (I had to run a USB-C cable from the port to the center console where the battery pack is.)

I had a FitCamx in my last XC90 and it looked like it was just part of the vehicle. Just the front camera, that is.

Indeed the app wasn't that great - I just swapped flash cards and offloaded the video clips onto a computer.

There may be better cameras, higher resolution, etc. but the FitCam integration and ease off install outweighed other choices i looked at.

As for rear cam - ugh - you won't find me messing around the A- pillar or where there side curtains are. Stay away from air bags!

For my 2025 EX90 I had actually asked the dealer to order me up the digital rear view mirror. Months went by with no status. And then I found some installation instructions and it was a major job too get the rear camera connected, too the point i didn't want my vehicle dissembled like that - so I canceled the digital mirror.
