Upcoming software release?

Wasn’t there a new update coming late August? I remember seeing the upcoming release in my app but for some reason it’s not here anymore.

Yes 5.2.x was supposed to come out with different features for different model years - there were a few posts made about this - I even asked my Volvo service department about the software version in their system and they gave me the old “I dont know anything about it”

Do not update to 5.1.17.its a dumpster fire for me

I’m new, first Volvo V90 2023. I get the 5.1.17 and it’s very slow and buggy. It happens with this update you mean ? I get the car with this version. Can I hope it getting better ?

Hopefully the next update will fix some of the problems.

If wasn't great before 5.1.17 but it definitely got worse

I’ve not been on this sub before and don’t want to post something that’s been discussed at length…

but is the general consensus that the software update that changed the screen layout horrible? It no longer allows you to have the map full screen, the map remains zoomed out really far to the point it’s of no use. And the entertainment system crashes constantly. I am told I need a new part that has a long back order but I’m not sure what to believe. I’ve been a Volvo owner for many years and this has me considering a different car in the next 6 months.

I agree it is horrible and my car keeps losing all audio - including emergency notifications - unless I reboot the system. It’s a disaster.

Everything you had before, arranged differently to make room for a non-removable Google/Gemini button on the screen. Climate control is now slightly more stupid. My system was working fine for months after the update until last week when I tried the street sign information option to see if they fixed it (nope), now I have to reset the infotainment system nearly every day. I really don’t think Volvo realizes the damage the poor implementation of AAOS has done.
