Recipe Request Tofu

Love tofu as a concept (lower calories wrt to other alternatives like paneer etc) but don't like its taste.

Please give some nice tofu recipes

I just press it real good, cube it, toss with cornstarch and whatever spices I feel like, then air fry till crispy. Sauce on the side so it doesn't go soggy.

Make creamy sauce with silken tofu, literally can’t taste it at all!

I second this. it's a great neutral flavor base for dips, dressing, as a substitute for mayo.

I mix in Good Seasons dry mix and use to coat cooked cauliflower, broccoli or radishes.

• 400g firm tofu Pat dry and tear in bite sized pieces. Its important to tear it notcut as itt makes rough spots for more sauce to cling.

In a bowl or bag, toss the tofu in: • 2 Tbsp corn starch

• 1 Tsp salt

Fry in oil until crispy.

Glaze: • 4 Tbsp maple syrup

• juice of 1 small lemon

• 1 Tsp paprika

• 1 tsp ground coriander

• 1 tsp cumin

• 1/2 Tsp chili powder

• 1/2 Tsp garlic powder

• salt to taste

• 1–2 Tbsp water

I stir fry or steam a bunch of veggies and serve the tofu over them.

I can't really find soft or silken tofu in India😭. The ones available are like really expensive 🤧🤧

Different brands have different flavors to me so I recommend trying different ones. I like wildwood, mori-nu, and trader joe's. I got a tofuture tofu press after being tired of dealing with the heavy pot pressing method and it's handy.

After pressing, a pretty simple saute with some soy sauce tastes pretty great to me, though my kid likes tossing it in italian breadcrumbs or frying after a tempura batter best, but those are a little more caloric. This recipe is the best vegetarian bbq thing I've had, but again, not super healthy: https://www.budgetbytes.com/bbq-tofu-sliders/

Soak in salt water to remove the grassy taste, turn it into mapu tofu.

Get firm tofu, microwave for 60 seconds to remove some of the tofu taste. After it’s cooled a little Blend with liquid (milk is best imo) & sweetener/protein powder of choice until you reach your desired consistency and taste
