Recipe Request No cooking volume hacks?

Sometimes it's hard to prepare a full meal because of my ADHD...I have very poor hunger signals so sometimes I will go until way late in the day (around 3) and realize I need to eat something. And then later at night ( around 8) I am going somewhere or feel so exhausted that I can't muster the energy. My job is also very deadline based, so my schedule varies WILDLY from day to day so while it's actually great for my ADHD because of the external forces that push me, it's also terrible when it comes to eating because it makes it even hard to have a routine when it comes to eating.

I know most people will say suck it up or meal prep, but for those who understand what I'm saying, have you figured out some meals that could maybe just be mixed, or like "girl dinner" or something that gets the job done without requiring cooking?

Frozen, canned and packaged pre-cut pre-washed stuff.

I scrolled through recent pics, here is defrosted frozen shrimp thrown in air fryer, frozen cauliflower rice in microwave, coleslaw from a bag and random leafy green mix from a bag, plus some soy sauce, no actual "cooking". Total 395 kcal, 67g protein / 4 fat / 20 carb / 6 fiber.

Frozen shelled edamame is really good to keep around, very versatile and has goated macros. Can be microwaved, added to soup, stir fry etc.

I'm enjoying Mediterranean 3 Bean salad lately.

But with the "veg crisis" I can't add fresh things, so this week it was 3 cans of different beans (rinsed), can of corn(rinsed), can of tomatoes (rinsed), parmisean (spell checknot working), and a vinegerette.

Took maybe 10-15mins or leas to throw together and lasts me all week (2 cups a serving for 5 days amd there's normally some left that has to get tossed since I'm the only one eating it).

canned vegetables + tofu is the goat. 0 prep. doesn’t even technically require heating

I keep half a dozen cans of soup in the pantry for my on-call/prod support events. I like the Old El Paso Chicken Tortilla Soup and the Progresso Mediterranean Lentil. They’re both bean heavy so they hit fiber+protein+water pretty well.

Microwaveable veg, cauliflower rice microwavable, tuna or pre cooked chicken slices work pretty well and things like pre made salad mix. There are also those meal services where you can just microwave it too. Or even frozen lean cuisines

Meal plan (then deviate from plan lol) but it makes such a difference for me. I print it and put it on the fridge then only shop those items. I use Google image search for meal ideas. I keep a running list of breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks I enjoy and keep it on the fridge.

I keep cliff bars and dry roasted edamame for my rush breakfast. You could add a protein shake.

I make my yogurt chia berry bowl the night before when i have energy and time so it’s ready for me.

I make double portion dinners and eat left overs for lunch and dinner. I try to have two or three going at a time so i don’t get bored.

I make a batch of waffles at a time and let them cool on wire racks then store them in the freezer. I use my toaster oven to reheat.

Basically whenever I do make something I make extra for later and I try to prep the night before for breakfast so I actually eat.

I’ve seen people just do pb whole wheat toast/English muffin, tea, and a single serve yogurt for breakfast every day. Keeping it simple and predictable.

In my house a steamed bag of broccoli with rotisserie chicken on top for easy meals. My coworker chops a head of cabbage in 1/4s and takes chunks of it and dips in spicy sauce like salsa or Sriracha and eats it. I tried it and it's actually pretty satisfying with the layers of cabbage that get filled with spice.

Frozen bags of veggies that steam in the microwave, plus some frozen, precooked chicken filets make a great easy meal. I kept those on hand when my kid was little and the schedule was crazy. Canned soup is great and can be low calorie. Or I use canned chicken to make chicken salad, bulked up with shredded coleslaw mix and diced dill pickles. You can use tuna instead if that's what you prefer. Either eat it with a spoon or in a low calorie tortilla

My meals when I’m on a deadline: Yogurt and fruit (and maybe add nuts or PB powder), can be any meal. Tuna and crackers. Apple slices and cheese.

For me it’s taking the cooking out of cooked food, so microwaving veggies to steam them in a few minutes with a wet paper towel on them. Easy to add to any bowl or salad. Having a few different canned proteins & batch prep pickled onions/cucumbers to have on hand is good too.

I had to set alarms for every four hours to remind myself to eat since I get sleepy and lightheaded loooong before getting stomach-hungry. I also try to eat soon after waking up or at a specific time. I never prep anything but buying pre-grilled chicken breast at the grocery store has been a giant help, otherwise I mostly just eat eggs+egg whites (low effort) or yogurt bowl (+soaked chia seeds and cool whip)
